-Drew catching a bug (Migratory Locust)
-Drew+Write greeting a villager (Morrie Adair )

(This is a Roleplay between myself and Choco-Kissu)
The first day they arrived had been spent dutifully cleaning and setting up the house; everything had an order and it wouldn't do to sleep under some strange roof without creating some sense of comfort first. Though it was still strange to wake up to wide open space such as this place--with the morning sky so blue and the air carrying no smog or ash. Everything was different.
So different...And that was just what they needed, wasn't it?

Dulciluna Brams walked carefully through the streets and over the bridge, all the while carefully noting all the things they passed. Today was a surveying day, the bat thought to themselves. Figure out the land, how and when things worked...that sort of thing. In one hand, Dulcie carried a portable mug from which steamed a floral, gingery tea. And with the other, they opened the door into City Hall.

Like every single day, Morrie sat at the front desk, typing away in his computer. The work never seemed to end, always having a huge pile of papers beside him. Why? you ask? Well, because Mr. Mayor was quite...not...skilled with paperwork, so Morrie had to do it instead or he was afraid this whole town would fall into some economic crisis. Atleast he got payed extra for this.

The rabbit sighed, leaning back in his chair as his eyes scanned the words he had just written. And when he deemed them as acceptable, Morrie saved the document and moved up to the next. Dling~ ".........??" His ears perked when he heard the small bell above the door ring, eyes immediately straying to that direction. Great...He hated being interrupted. He wonder who was it this time, and what they even wanted.

With a quiet visage, and the clinking of metal chains, Dulcie eyed their surroundings carefully. Upon spying Morrie across the way, they made their way to his desk--but it was a second or two before they actually spoke up. They stood, almost towering over Morrie's desk if only because of their ears. Even though their eyes couldn't be seen, it was evident that they were looking directly the bunny's way. Were they actually studying the secretary?

The piercing in their ears, the studs on their leather vest, the chain loop in their...The lack of emotion in their face--The only thing that wasn't so tough-seeming was the sweet and spicy aroma of tea wafting from their mug.

"...I just moved here," Dulcie spoke suddenly, "I've got questions about opening stalls in the Market. You got answers?"

"................." Excuse you? What kind of rude way to ask was that!? Of course he had answers, was this bat dumb!? The rabbit was very quick to judge a person, and so far, this person's tone was not something very pleasant. He actually narrowed his eyes, slowly turning full-bodily at them with a little, fake smile on his face. God, if only his job didn't depend on the way he treated people, he would have already snapped at this rude individual.

"Welcome to the town hall. What would you like to know?" He deadpanned, his tone neither nasty nor too friendly. Morrie didn't like the way they looked at him either...It was....weird.

"...Hmm." One of their ears twitched, and once again Dulcie took the briefest of seconds to just be...quiet. Thinking. Taking down a mental note.

They took a sip from their mug of tea but decidedly chose not to answer them. Instead, Dulcie reached into their pocket and pulled out a slip of paper that then they unfolded for Morrie to see. "My questions are on here, sucre," they stated plainly and laid down the paper. On the sheet, written almost comically neatly, were just a few inquiries:
-What days are the Market open.
-Who decide the stall schedules.
-Is an overcrowding of stalls a concern.
-Are bugs a problem.
-Can we decorate our own stalls.

...simple, concise, and blunt. But really, that handwriting looked almost like it was typed! Like some sort of cutesy, neat writing you'd see on old-timey recipe cards...It didn't quite fit their image. Without another word, Dulcie simply drank from their mug and waited for a response.

Uhm....okay?" Well, that does it! This person obviously had a loose screw in his head. That was the only explanation, specially to this odd behavior of handing him a note rather than...oh, you know, ASKING? he had to take a moment to inwardly calm down, pushing his glasses up the rim of his pink nose that wiggled in annoyance. "Right...well, the market opens every day, except sundays, at 9am. The stall scheduled is decided by the Mayor and as of now, overcrowding of stalls is not an issue, since we have rotations. Meaning that certain stalls are only available on certain days. You can look at the schedule at the entrance of the town square. Bug? Uh...i guess? Depends on the time of the year. And yes, you may decorate your stall" he took a little breath at the end, pretty much saying that whole thing in one go as if it was already carved in his brain...which it was.

Morrie blinked up at the bat, sliding the paper back to them, "anything else I can help you with?" Oh please, say no...though when the stranger brough up the cup to drink from it, Morrie frowned "also, no food and drinks in the town hall"

The whole while, although Dulcie had been silent and still, they had been thinking. Thinking about the earliest they would need to start prepping to bake, what they'd made, what fruits were in season, all those papers on this bunny's desk...the practiced way they smiled and spoke, and that twitch of their nose.

Dulcie let out a quiet breath--though it sounded almost disappointed, and with the slight furrowing of their brow they showed the very first hints of any emotion since they walked in. They flicked the sip cap on their mug close--"If you're upset by my demeanor, then I apologize, sucre" sighed the bat. Already they had said more in that one sentence alone than the entire time they've woken up! "I don't speak much. Some find that off-putting, sucre. I thought writing my questions with be more...efficient. Faster. And you seemed busy." A sliver of blue peeked out from under their eyelid towards the hefty stack of papers beside Morie. But their eye closed just as hastily as it had opened!

"I won't take up more of your time, then." With that, Dulcie turned and began to head back towards the entrance. Once more, the bell tingled as the door was pulled open but there was just one last thing they wanted to say:
"...I make pastries, and also tea, sucre" they piped up, "if you stop by my stall, perhaps you would like some to feel calmer."

"........." well, the bat was right about the whole faster thing, but Morrie still found it rude, specially since they just moved in. But well, whatever, the bunny just nodded at them and went back to his chores. He wasn't much of a sweet guy...but tea? Now that's something that made his eye glint. Ohh...would they have some lemon bars too? It was hard to find people who could make them right, or people that made them overrall. His favorites were always going to be the one his grandfather used to make. Ahh, those were delicious.

After a moment, he realized that his mind had actually strayed away from his work, thinking about random moments in his childhood. Ah, right now wasn't a good time to think about that. He still had quite the work to do that made him groan when his head turned to look at the pile. It was such a nice day outside too...
