Description 26 characters. A new record, breaking the previous 24 by 2. Not bad for the start of the new year. It was initially supposed to be 38 total, but I didn't want to overwhelm myself.  Anyways, this is the compilation of characters in multiple TLK media which seem to have gotten a bit of attention for their uniqueness or popularity. As for why characters such as the cubs from "Sarabi Says' or "The Shooting Star" aren't here, it's because I already made them in my Mufasa's Pride picture. They still be referenced here, though enough lollygagging with the intro here.

Starting off in the left top corner are Akisi(reflection) and Mbili(two), found in the Simba-Shaped Hardbook . Given their similarities to Simba, I considered making them hypothetical siblings, though decided they'd be better as the cubs of one of the males on the right. Given their appearance in the book, and my inability to read the story, my HC for them was that they decided to wander away from their pride and found themselves in the Elephant Graveyard, the two were saved and let out by Simba's mandrill friend Mosi(smoke)(also Rafiki's nephew), who leads them to Simba, who in turn takes them to his pride and Mosi's mother and Rafiki's sister Dalila(symptoms). Akisi and Mbili are eventually reunited with their family and pride and are grateful to the Pridelanders for helping them out.

Speaking of which. Kiwango(level), Tafakari(meditation), and Ndevu(beard) are the three males featured in Simba Wants to Play . In my universe, the 'Pridelanders' are actually composed of several different prides featured across the Pridelands, though all share the moniker "Ndona" followed by a certain geographical feature. The Pridelanders we know, involving Simba/Kiara/etc. are part of the Ndona-Plains pride(typically seen as the 'head' pride), while other areas involve the Ndona-(Valley/Wetlands/Desert/etc), which these three are leaders and/or representatives of.

Kiwango and Tafakari are brothers, with Kiwango leading the Wetlands pride and Tafakari the representative of the Valley, as well him being the father of Mbili and Akisi. Ndevu is a representative of the Ndona-Desert Pride and is the mate of Endana and father to Njema/Nhano/Njano (aka The Shooting Star cubs). Kiwango is the father of Tendaji, Hatua, Rana, and Zingela(all featured below). During Scar's reign, in an effort to prevent anymore of the pride escaping and to solidify his control over his part of the Pridelands, he excommunicated any contact with the prides and even sent several hyenas to attack them in an effort to keep them away/prevent any aid. When Simba returned, some prides were less hesitant to reconnect then others, especially the ones who were attacked, though some were willing and peace talks still are in the works for the remaining ones.

Featured in the Put Them In Order Swedish Magazine page are the four cubs(left to right): e. Marijani(coral), a. Umande(dew) d. Kipaji(brilliant/genius), and c. Thamani(value). In universe, I'd put them as some of the neighboring prides cubs. I know many people like to make cub c./aka Thamani here Scar's son, and I kinda wanted to follow suit. I imagine Scar is quite the womanizer and Thamani's mother was one of his flings during a possible visit to the pride, prior to his coop. I imagine Scar wouldn't be interested in starting a family and just wanted to use Thamani's mother as a way to feel loved/desirable, but with no real commitment. Seeing this, she never told Scar about her pregnancy or his son. If Scar knew about him, Thamani would probably be his ideal heir, at least better than his other options(i.e. Nuka, Kosa, Tupa, Zuri). His name is also a reference to the old theory that Scar's original name was Taka(waste/trash), and his own name meaning the opposite to that. Unlike his unknown father, Thamani is friendly, kind, and loyal, though has inherited his father's brains.

As for the rest, Marijani and Kipaji are siblings, both playful and energetic. Umande was adopted by their family, her pale leucistic pelt being the reason her original family abandoned her. Despite her origin, Umande is sweet and charming, growing up to be a lovely, considerate lioness. I didn't initially mean to make Kipaji seem like he was flirting with Thamani here, but now I've decided that they'll be husbands in the future.

Next, featured in Simba and the Snake  is little Alfajiri(dawn). I know some people like to put him as Mheetu, though since I already had my version I decided to make him Tambo's son/AKA the lion from the TJKWTBK book  with Umande. Just ignore the time difference from the comic and my universe.

Onto the right is Mchumba(sweetheart), the lioness featured in Simba's New Brother.  She is the mother of the two dirty cubs in A Heroic Dirty CubNishati(energy) and Chenza(play) and Mawindo(hunt)(right below). The twins are rambunctious and playful while Mawindo is playful, but only will get his paws dirty if he possibly can't avoid it. Sadly, Mawindo, as well as Tendaji(active) and Hatua(step) are part of the casualties in Scar's plan to isolate his kingdom and pride, and are killed when he sends the hyenas to terrorize/keep away the neighboring prides. Nishati and Chenza name their own cubs after their brother and friends.

Mawindo, Tendaji, and Hatua are all featured as in "The Unusual Choir " and "The Orphaned Baby Birds ". I know there's a lot of inconsistencies with their designs, as was with the Shooting Star cubs, though I tried to compile their images for reference.

Right beside Mchumba is her childhood friend Kani(strong). The mate of Kiwango and mother of Tendaji, Hatua, Rana, and Zingela, as well as the lioness featured in "The Great Detectives". She lived in the Wetlands pride up until Scar's hyena invasion, where she lost two of her cubs. Driven with grief, she left to find peace on her own, ended up in the Oasis where Simba was living at, though never encountered him, and attacked Pumbaa and Timon. She would later return back to Kiwango and reconcile with him, raising their two cubs together. Despite Timon and Pumbaa's encounter with her, she actually is a very sweet lioness, juts someone who was really shattered by the grief of losing two of her children. She was also very adamant about keeping a distance away from the Pridelands after Simba's return, mental/emotional wounds still fresh.

Going to the left bottom corner are the cubs featured in "Laugh Again/Royal Duties ". Despite the inconsistency with the designs/numbers, I decided to make them five total. From left to right we have Rana(sun/day-Hausa), her sister. currently getting her ear nibbled on, Zingela(hunt-Zulu), the cub nibbling Zingela's ear being Ilanga(sun-Zulu), Ilanga's twin sister Ingoma(song-Zulu), and little Sadiya(morning-Hausa) resting on Ingoma. This little pack of girls occasionally saw visits from the prince of the Ndona-Plain pride himself Simba, who often took care of them as part of his royal teachings and part as his father attempting to sow goodwill among their sister pride.

Sadly, Rana and Zingela's sister Hatua and brother Tendaji are part of Scar's hyena invasion casualties and since then, even after Simba's return, their pride is one of the few that still remain wary about reinstating relations, though are slowly warming up as Simba's daughter Kiara starts taking charge and uniting prides. The girls themselves are rather fond of Simba and his pride, and were more conflicted about remaining away then the rest of their pride. As adults, the five are still as close as ever and are a capable hunting party.

Lastly, from the Polish magazine "Disney and Me" Who Roars Louder? Page we have Kiara and four other lionesses, b. Tikisa(agitate), c. Eusi(dark), d. Desturi(custom), and e. Hamu(eager). I imagine these ladies are various lionesses Kiara grew up with or lionesses from various prides that she befriended. Tikisa, Desturi, and Hamu are sisters and could probably be Busara's cubs, while Eusi could definitely be Sanaa's daughter.

I know that I didn't include every single miscellaneous character, though I had plans for more of them in a future picture. If any of you re interested, here's a page I found which includes pictures/links to multiple TLK semi-official media containing these random characters, and a compilation of different media to find miscellaneous characters here . Just to note, some of links for the first don't work anymore, but the majority do. I also tried to cite the comics/magazines/books for the characters listed here, so if any of this is helpful, you're welcome.

Also, if there's any confusion about the parents/prides involved with Scar's hyena invasion, let me explain. Scar sent his hyenas to all three males prides(as well as other neighboring prides), though out of the three males, Ndevu(with the desert pride) and Tafakari(with the Valley pride) both reinstated relations after Simba's return. Kiwando(with the Wetlands pride), remains unsure with reestablishing relations, given that Kiwango himself lost his son and daughter, Hatua and Tendaji, during the hyena raids. He is rather bitter and angry towards the Ndona-Plains pride, as well as his brother's pride and allies for forgiving them, also jealous towards his brother since his own sons survived the attacks. Kiwango's daughters Rana and Zingela are more open to building up alliances with the pride in the future. After all, it was Scar who did all that, not Simba, and Simba took care of them and cubs.

Starting out strong this year with several character designs. I feel pretty good about this year. Also, yes I did use several references for several of the characters designs/poses, mostly the five baby cubs. Figured I might as well be transparent about that.

Edit 11/8/23: So I recently discovered this lioness from "The Great Detectives Hakuna" Matata Magazine, so I decided to add her, as well go over the pictures in the past which I need to update with new information.
