The way of nature decaying creatures has always made me curious. A family friend used to own a bunch of cows, we would take walks in the pastures and often would see dead ones. As a child I was the first one up to close to one, still am that way sometimes XD

I don't see anything wrong with this photo. It's simply nature taking its course. I'd LOVE to have that skull! (Mind you I'd prefer to have it cleaned up and all that jazz.)

An interesting photo. The study of decay is fascinating. The smell must have been mad nasty, though.

How is this animal cruelty? It's an animal who died of some natural cause, either by being killed by a predator or from old age/disease. Animals die; it's nature. It's not like the artist killed a bunch of animals just to photograph them. THAT would be cruelty.

some might say you have an unhealthy interest in photographing things associated with death...
or maybe it's just me that thinks it's possible to have too many pictures of the subject.

And here I was just wishing I had taken pictures of the dead deer, coyote, and skunks I had seen.

I don't know how long they had been out there. Probably a while. Nearby there was a cow skin. Like someone had skinned one then decided they didn't want it.
