Dang, if that was realy spinning that fast it would be supplying enough energy to take care of an entire city. Outstanding creation -- I like how this looks as if the land is covered by a complete blanket of frost and the depth of the photo is exceptional

There are not so many possibilities taking long-time exposures: infrared and/or two stacked polarizers (one circ. and one linear)

Thank You very much again

Verrry nice. This is a beautiful and dramatic picture.
I've been trying to figure out how you do these, and I think I might have discovered it.

vw1956 In reply to BitterGrapes [2006-10-06 05:41:38 +0000 UTC]

I used a infrared lense making it possible to take 10s-exposures Thank You very much, Andrew

Aha. That's not at all what I thought you did. An infrared lens...that does make sense.
It looks GREAT, Volker...and you're welcome.

I will buy a used Nikon D70 body from my friend *LutherBash especially for infrared. They are better for IR than mine

vw1956 In reply to bluesman219 [2006-10-03 22:50:04 +0000 UTC]

The D70 ir/uv-filter is different from mine and so the results are better! One even can modify standard DSLRs for optimal results: [link]

Did you use the Infra red filter on this?? I am got to get me one of them.. Fantastic shot!!!!!!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vw1956 In reply to live2b [2006-10-02 21:34:58 +0000 UTC]

I used my "Hoya R72" infrared filter, indeed. It depends on which camera YouΒ΄re using: not all cameras are IR-able!!!

Thank You very much, Ginny

live2b In reply to vw1956 [2006-10-02 22:53:28 +0000 UTC]

My camera is Olympus FE-120 X-700 and I don't know enough about cameras to know wheather it is or not. It has maco and super maco. I know that has nothing to do with IR.

Some minutes ago I visited a german database with tests about infrared-ability of different cameras but I did not find Your modell

Well, that figures. I better lean how too use just the camera before I start fooling with the fancy stuff!!

vw1956 In reply to live2b [2006-10-03 17:46:55 +0000 UTC]

You can even take ir photos without these filters: [link]

Nice and hot there in Germany huh? Funny just the other day I had to have my little heater on cos it got so cold, but yesterday it was almost 90 degrees F well, I know you do celcius (sp?) but that's hot! Today another warm one. I guess that's why they call it Indian Summer

You're welcome Volker!

Ich wohne auch unterhalb der Nebelgrenze und da friert man meistens im Winter. Dieses GefΓΌhl prΓ€gt meinen Winter Das geniessen der schΓΆnen Winterwelt in der Sonne ist eher selten.
