You would not believe your eyes, if ten million fireflies...EDIT (AGAIN): Yes, it seems like I'm never satisfied with this one...I created a few grass brushes to use, changed some of the fireflies, edited the Umbreon's color, thinned out the shooting star, added a "mat" border and signed the bottom
5/10-9/10 EDITS: this piece has gone through many edits/revisions, the look of fur on the Umbreon, the stars, background, size of the moon, placement of fireflies, various image darkenings, and lots of tiny tweaks. I think I'm finally happy with where it stands now

after the the whole move and loss of photoshop, I did regain Paint.net, but its rather....limited for my taste. though I have wanted so badly to regain PSCS4, my bullheaded-ness finally succumbed to my impatience and I'm currently working off of Gimp. thankfully it has the splatter brush and polygonial lasso effects.

This is simply gorgeous, really. Even with your limited resources, this turned out FANTASTIC. I see a small error, but it's already been pointed out, so it's pointless to rehash it.....I'll be admiring the scenery on this for quite some time.

I did use another "tool". I used the digital one XD
as far as markering goes, if you've ever used a marker, its hard to create a smooth transition when shading without the colors overlapping each other. if you look on the original in the background, the sky, all those overlaps? I try to avoid that as much as possible, and I found using the blender works the best, the only downside is that the color is a heck of a lot lighter than the original

When I drew a white Umbreon a while back, I found it easier to use a light gray rather than white; it's easier to work with while manipulating light colors.

that, and when shading a white object you use grey, but I know what you mean as far as easier. personally, I like doing digital work. for one, its easier to fix mistakes, and secondly, I find using the splatter brush technique best for shading, I can really work with the colors that way

You'd never guess just by looking at it that it's gray, not white. I drew this picture a long time ago of my characters Moonlight and Shadow; Shadow was a shot away from the norm, something almost unheard of in Umbreon, so naturally I made her white...well, almost white, but you'd have to make the background white to see the difference.

lol, sure, it can be Yoshi. I really have no creativity towards uniquing Pokemon, so Yoshi doesn't have any defining features other than she's shiny
