I'm adding mat-like borders around some of my digital pics for added effect, tell me what you thinkFinally got this done, though knowing myself I'll update it with revisions later. right now I'm happy with it. Took me a good while to complete it. Another shiny Umbreon picture, this time the colored version of my mini sketch [link]
playing with the airbrush a bit more in this one, as well as the filters and such that Gimp has to offer.
EDIT Made the mountains look ice-covered, added some sun-glow to the Umbreon, gave the ice a bit more reflective color, and a few other minor tweaks

I'll check out your new artwork! Wowie, it's so weird thinking you were just here in Minnesota about a year ago and now I'm talking to you here right now. How was the rest of your mission?

it was a very unique experience. after I left your area, the next transfer was my last in Minnesota. I was called to finish back home full time service side, and I've been kept very busy between multiple activities, both big and small. I was released at 7:00am mountain time on the 28th

I like the dawn-gleam on Umbreon! I never would have thought of that. But it makes the image a thousand times cooler.

those minor tweaks were set into play long ago, the most recent was just the addition off the mat border
and yes, I would imagine his paws would be very numb by now XD

Thank you, but since I don't plan to go anywhere with my art, I tend to just learn through trial an error x3 If I ever want to learn something, I won't hesitate to ask though!

I still think it will 'pop' if the snow has really bright highlights, it will make it dramatic.

This is AWESOME! The olny things I would recomend is make the snow where he is sitting haigh brighter highlights and the sun itself to be a tad brighter. And if you want to go all the way, strong highlights on its fur(just on the edges like a halo from the sun)

no, see, if you have a lower body temp, you wouldn't be freezing, you'd be over-heating. I have a higher temp, so anything below 70 I freeze

same here. Apparently low blood pressure does that do ya. I think my being born in Florida and living my first 2 years there permanently affected my DNA to thrive in warm weather XD
