Found this guy in a wild rose thicket in a riparian area. Mom, Paul and I were exploring a new Nature Reserve not too far from home. He was pearched on the dead end of a wild rose branch in the shade of the thicket just several yards from the pond. I guess I am among a lucky few. The species is known to perch very infrequently. This guy let me get all up in his face with my camera and also let me coax him onto my hand. It wasn't until I tried to gently pass him to Mom that he picked himself up and slowly flew off.Related content

Partly cause you told me how to tell the difference and partly because I had it ID-ed. Thie wigns stand out on a 90% angle while a damselfly would fold the wings along the body...
