Description Shot this during the summer in the hedges along the sunny side of the house.  This particular species of jumping spider seems to be less interested in being photographed than others are.  They are hard to shoot because they are so eager to get away.

Thank you    I love all of the little jumpers.  I just found out there is a 'super size' species that they breed to be pets.  I might look into that.

Oh wow! I didn't know about that. I adore spiders of all kinds. I use to get into trouble as a kid for carrying around the big scary fuzzies as my mother called them LOL, she was terrified of spiders. I suppose the constant appearance of spiders, snakes and other "creepy crawlies"  in pockets on laundry day made raising me a bit stressful.

I got lucky as a kid.  Both my parents really encouraged my love of nature and random 'pets'.  One of my best memories is raising a Luna moth caterpillar through cocooning and eclosing as an adult.  They come out so wrinkled up I thought there was something wrong with it and got scared but Mom persisted that we give it time and just watch.  It was fascinating AND a great life lesson.

I really love the jumpers.  We have several species of them around where I live.  They come out at different times of the year starting sometimes as early as March.  They are all soo cute!

They are the cutest. A small one used to live on the back of my computer screen.
Every time I turned the screen on, he/she came running along the fram to see what the heck was going on.
It sort of streched it's legs to see better. Cracked me up everytime

I just discovered one on my bedside table this evening.  I have no idea what it has been living on
