Description We seem to have soooo many of these.  They especially thrive in the tall grass on the leeching mound on the back of the property.  I can't let myself get upset about the fact that it is scheduled to be mowed on the weekend.  There are so many great spiders and insects there.  And there are wild flowers, too.

Fantastic photo! You've captured the sentience of this creature so perfectly.

My favorite insect. Hope to one day see one myself.

It seems they are really increasing in numbers here.  I usually find them when I am really out in 'the wild' stalking spiders.  They have such a look of intelligence.   They will turn their heads and look right at you like they are sizing you up!  Where do you live?

Virginia. Many insects around here, but not many bigger spiders like you've seen. Probably the most exotic one I've seen is an assassin bug. xD

That's strange.  I'm not *that* far away.  I'm in South Eastern Pennsylvania...

Could also be because I live in the city. Gotta travel further to find more spider habitats, heh.

Thank you    Yes.  I am so lucky to have seen so many of these the past couple of years.  I'd say it's because I'm out in the field but half of them I've seen have been in the garden at the front of the house.

You're welcome! I remember as a youth I spent my summers on Cape Cod and I used to see them quite often then. I think I've seen one the past 5 years or so. Amazing creatures they are though!

They are.  I don't know really why I've seen so many more of them around here...
