You've got the shading down, which is GREAT! But.... there's one HUGE flaw that i'm seeing here.... it doesn't look like toei/CD sonic. I mean, this sonic bears somewhat of a resemblance to Toei, but the way how sonic's drawn here, seems off.... his quills aren't conal and erect, the eyes don't appear to take up the majority of his face, he looks a tad bit too tall.... the mouth isn't on the top right corner of his muzzle.... aaannnd i think that's about it, overall, you did pretty good with the shading! It's just the proportioning that needs to be worked on. Nice job!

I see what you mean and... I kind of intended it to be. Don't get me wrong, I love Toei Sonic and his design is great but it's also one I know I can never draw right. I wish I drew him on model but I didn't want him to look too official. Maybe a case of off-model XD
There are obviously other artists that draw better than I do with this Sonic design and I can care less but I just wanted to risk being different to avoid being accused of copying or tracing. I didn't want him to be in a stationary pose like this but it was the only idea I had at the time.
I promise the next time I draw him, he'll definitely be running and I hope I draw him closer to how he's supposed to look! ^^

Hey, don’t feel left out, toei sonic is pretty damn difficult to master! You’re not the only one who’s struggled with the design. I still have trouble trying to get it down even today, and I never know when the quills look right or not. So I can see where you’re coming from with this. It’s incredibly hard, in fact, it’s one of the hardest artstyles to master IMO, but it couldn’t hurt to continue trying, right? You don’t have to!
