Shadow Weaver was once known as Beatrix. She was from the magical Kingdom of Mystacor. Along with Castaspella she served as an apprentice to the great mage, Norwyn. Beatrix struggled to learn the higher levels of magic. She grew jealous of Castspella as she surpassed her and more so when she became queen of Mystacor. While astro projecting she made contact with a presence, this being called himself Hordak. He promised her great power in return for her help in overthrowing Mystacor and the surrounding kingdoms. Her powers were greatly enhanced through a magical gem whose power also induced an irreversible change in her appearance and mental state. She betrayed Norwyn and dropped the magical barriers protecting the planet. Beatrix took the name Shadow Weaver and now uses her black magic to serve the Horde
