Chain and Skai (2004)Heres another from way back. These guys were with my other artwork 'Rucierre'. This was apart of a big project I had planned right after high school for myself. My vision couldnt quite manifest itself all the way through, so I just managed to get their portraits done, which for me is good enough, considering I lost interest with it.

you must use realy soft brushes when you get that softness with a mouse

Back in my mouse days, the smudge tool was my best mate! would be a combination of hard and soft using diff opacities.

so you work now with a tablet?
didnt use the smudge tool because its alway so slow when iuse it. so you used nearly same colors and blended them with the smudge tool?

yup, pretty much. I dont recommend using the smudge tool. if you dont know how to use it it can look like its been smudged and can look really cheap, so its potentially a dangerous tool. also the way I use my tablet is completely different to how i went about using my mouse.

thats also a reason i never used the smudge tool..i do everything with colors and different brushes
do you knonw a good tut about that kind of technique?
