Description
This is the artwork to 'The Man's Board', created last year for Salomon Snowboards. This will be Bode Merrills Choice of board for the next season.

For all of the comments sharing your disapproval of her armor... yes, I know, but this is fantasy and this has been typically designed as "A Man's Board" for the client. In real-life battle it makes no sense at all, but why now does fantasy art now have to be practical in real-life? In the realm of fantasy, you can do anything and in a practical way since its fantasy. The naked female form is beautiful, medieval armor is kick ass and here is the combination of both in the realm of fantasy. Yup, its been done plenty in the past, thats why I made sure to put enough effort into her hair, her face, the design of what armor she does have, the design of her sword, and the white tiger so that the sexual aspect of her nakedness doesn't have to be the only focus on the artwork. Anyway, I hope you like

I love the design of her armor, I know its not functional but its not really meant to be its more like lingerie so yeah XD, but the tiger sword is the best! Seriously, I want one.

And for all those against the armour, one question: do you have a piece of your art stamped on a top of the line board that will sell like crazy? If your answer is yes, then critizise away. If you don´t, well, become as good an artist that an international company calls you and then show us your take on fantasy armour.
And for the marine, no disrespect meant, all your countrymen should be proud of you. But the fact that you know that that kind of armour
does not protect does not meen only that you know what you need for protection. It also means you know where to shoot to hurt, maim or kill. You look at it from a soldiers point of view, cool for you, thats your life and thats your opinion.
But Im a doctor, i fix the guy you shot, and no amount of correctly engineered armour has diminished my workload.
The way I see it, the day that a pic like that can be posted and no one manages to point out that the armour is not well designed, well, thats the day people will know less about war and their minds will have moved on to more interesting stuff: like hot girls in sexy armour.
Summing it up: go skimpy armour, go cool snowboard...
And go womb power! Medical fact!

So by your logic, If someone is not a master chef and does not own a restaurant, Then they can not tell you if food is badly done or tastes wrong. Or if someone is not a Police Officer or a Lawyer, Then someone can not say someone is wrong or against the law. If someone is not an actor or producer of film, video games or movies, Then they can not say a tv show, game or movie sucks. If someone is not a Doctor, then they can not tell you when they are sick or injured or simply not feeling well.
Body armor engineering HAS diminished your work load. By your very logic, you are not a Marine or Soldier, you can't tell me when body armor does not work and doesn't save from injures. I have several buddies who got hit in the chest by 7.62x39's (The AK round) and walked away fine from the plate taking all the impact..
But what astounds me is that you are supposedly a medical professional who is trained in higher thinking, logic and other things.. but you come up with that absolutely retarded logic of "if they are not a professional of this..then they can't comment on this.." Here, I got one, Sense you haven't fought for freedom, You can't use any of them. Including freedom of speech! so why are you talking?

Granted on the first 2 points, I agree. I had just had a very crappy day and had absolutely zero tolerance left. I was just getting my mind of of things and your comments caught my attention. While I do think that fantasy does not have to make sense, thats the whole point of it after all, your first 2 points are correct, and I apologise that you ended up being the object of me venting of some steam.
I do not agree on your third point though, the last paragraph. But I think this is not the place to discuss that, as all this is in no way relevant to us enjoying nice art, which is why we are all here in DA in the first place.
So, if you would like to continue this conversation elsewhere, I'm all for it, some friendly verbal sparring and exchange of opinions is always fun. Let me know.

However, a note about the armor: the upturned flange running along the top of the plates that cover her backside. Arranged thusly, it would likely deflect a sword shot IN towards her torso.
