Something I always find really enjoyable for whatever reason is translating my characters to different game systems. I discovered the fanmade Pokémon tabletop a while back (particularly the PTU system ; link if interested) and inevitably started to translate a lot of my characters into its trainer systems. It also begged the question, what Pokémon would my characters have? Which ones represented them or their talents or the types of creatures they might interact with?
In Borothor's case, there's three I definitively settled on. Rapidash, because paladins and epic steeds go hand in hand (and he's always had a bond with his charger, named Eraburis). Assuming it's still a fantasy-type world, his people likely breed Rapidash as mounts for their knights - they'd be pretty big and strong, as Borothor's is, and he'd probably usually give it armored barding. Boldore felt like a really good choice for him, partially because of his dungeon-delving/mining/metalworking background. Braviary is the closest thing I could see to a gryphon, but also just thinking about its reputation and the heroism and courage it represents. It also is probably given some light armored barding.

There are others I could see him with as well to fill out his team, but for his fantasy version, these are the three he'd most use to fight alongside him (armed with his usual plate and hammer) or for transport.

I spent some time before this trying to design some armor for him (I ended up trying to take some inspiration from mega Aggron), but I couldn't quite settle on the look. I drew him here in his classic stylish blue shirt from WoW lol. If I ever run a fantasy PTU game, Bor and my other characters might show up as NPCs. Hopefully I'll figure out the armor and barding designs before then xD.
