I painted this as a donation to Audubon's Wild Arts Festival. Each 6"x 6" painting is sold at the festival in Portland, and the proceeds go to help wildlife, especially birds. What a wonderful cause!American Kestrels are gorgeous! Their markings look like they have been painted; I can imagine an angel carefully painting on each delicate polka-dot and stripe. They also have personalitis disproportionate to their tiny bodies (which are no bigger than a robin). Maybe they have a Napoleon complex?
