Right about when Arina Tanemura's manga "Full Moon wo Sagashite" ended, I drew a fanart in tribute. I really owe a lot to Tanemura-Sensei for bringing this great read out. It was because of it that I seriously got into reading manga and watching anime, ...going crazy over Bishie boys...etc. ^-^ Nya~ On top of that, it's just a great manga all around! I love her style, it's so unique...just very pretty all around! This little fanart doesn't do justice to what Tanemura-Sensei can do. (Although I really tried to mimic her tenique as best to my abilities....)

Actually, this picture is pretty old. I don't know when I drew it....last year....August....October-ish?...Maybe? O_o I have no clue. There's really more to this picture -- it really has a background in the original, I swear!! Well, kinda....at least....More than this one does! Ah ha ha!
Yeah, I have the original scanned in and in the process of coloring it on photoshop, but....the file is so huge, the computer goes into mini-shock just opening the darn thing. And my attention span doesn't last that long, darn it! >_< (I mean, that file is HUGE! I have to clear up space just so I can open it every time, I swear! )
So I resulted to just this. I bought some India ink from a little art store in town and decided that my money shouldn't go to waste. (I kinda felt it was a duty to buy it, honestly. That store-lady was so nice and talkative --very talkative-- that I thought it would be out-right rude to leave the store without purchasing something. ) Plus I have absolutely NO IDEA how to use India ink, pens, or any ink-related things in general. I really get scared when I pen a picture, my hand never stops shaking--ever! I always end up with these crooked, squigly lines on everything, you'd think I'd have...uh, whatchamacallit.....Arthritis! Really, pens are scary, (they're fun, but scary) everything seems so final when I use it. It's like if I mess up...too bad, you're screwed. So I was really tense when tracing this. And the fact that I could find every mistake I had made when I first drew it while inking didn't help my confidence much, either. ( Her whole left side is larger than the other!! How did I manage that?! )

Well, that's my little blurb. Sorry, Tanemura-sensei, this doesn't come close to sum up Full Moon, but I tried! But despite my lack of ink-mastery, porportion-keeping, and fanart...ing, I'm still decently pleased with this.

Oh yeah...this is Mistuki, the main character of Full Moon. (shoulda said so at the beginning... ) But if you haven't read the manga yet, it's coming out this July by Viz! I highly recomend!
