Description Here it is, folks! This species is open to the public! If you ever make one, make sure you mention me so I can add them to my favorites! ^^

Read below for more information!

EDIT: ** = Updated; *** = New

Plot: During a typical day in Los Angeles, 10-year-old expert rhythm game player Chori Calloway went to the arcade after school to play rhythm games and collect enough tickets to win the “mystery prize” advertised with the arcade clerk. Upon gaining enough tickets, the prize happened to be a unique music box capable of playing a set list of dance music. She came home and entered her room, she found it odd that it began playing music and she wasn’t able to open the box’s lid, but she felt some engravings on the bottom of it. When she read it aloud, she dropped the box onto her bed as she noticed it transform into a muzikbot named Rhythm. The muzikbot reported that she was from a planet named Ferraton and came to Earth to help purify a negative entity known as chroma - that siphons the world’s sound of music - that was infinitely spreading around the city. In order to purify stronger levels of chroma, Rhythm advised to partner with Chori so they could help defend the world from a nefarious planet named Barion.

Muzikbots are dance or music-based robots that specialize in music or sound abilities. Their deactivation is in the form of a music box.

Height: Typically 2-3 feet

Weight: Varies

Origin: Muzikbots originate from a futuristic, mobile planet known as Ferraton. Their home world runs on music and dancing generated by the populace, and it constantly moves between galaxies in search of purifying sources of chroma.

**General Design**:

Headphones with Antennas - Their headphones interchangeably act as their “ears'' as well as listening to music, and can withstand decibels greater than 140 dB. The antennas are known to pick up certain frequencies such as messages, sounds, music and calls sent from their handler or other muzikbots within a ten-mile radius, and are able to find sources of chroma nearby. Their antennas, when they have a partner, can also emit an invisible field that negates certain conditions delivered outside of music battles within a mile radius, such as hypnotism. Headphones and antenna designs can vary.

Ovular Eyes - Their LED eyes are capable of scanning the strength of chroma inhabiting citizens and/or muzikbots, view status conditions, and perform various emotional features such as stars or hearts. The eyes can vary in color.

Icon Panel - The LED icon panel addresses their musical genre (it can be animated or not), able to express the type of ability muzikbots use, and project music battles.

Speaker Hands - Able to play music, manifest abilities, talk and playback messages.

Semi-hollow Legs - Capable for flight/water propulsion and other abilities for some muzikbots.

Note: I do not permit any major deviation from their base design unless their superpower is shapeshifting or body transmutation.

Internal Mechanics:

Core: A tangible, soul-like orb that illuminates brightly and is responsible for controlling all of a muzikbot’s bodily functions. It is believed that the core is a spontaneous creation (Magic).

Muzikbots are basically robotic shells operated by a core. The shell cannot function/operate without it and vice versa. Methods for a muzikbot dying could be that the core was punctured or begins to fade in light (the latter would normally result in old age, which could take centuries or millennia).

Core repairs must be done on Ferraton.

Fluids: Magnetorheological fluid (robotic blood) and other mixed lubricants. There’s also a special fluid designed to support the muzikbot’s resiliency, abilities, artificial intelligence, motion, energy levels, and material performance tuning.

Noting how advanced these bots are, their robotic blood will work to close the leak quickly once it comes in contact with oxygen/other gasses, so they don’t bleed out completely.

If the body were externally damaged, it’s expected that the body will not run at full capacity until repairs are made. External repairs can be repaired within a given time in their music box state.

Pain, Fatigue and Sensitivity: Muzikbots can feel pain, though their pain receptors aren’t as sensitive as humans. If a small rock were to hit their head, they won’t really feel anything. However, it’s more progressive in battles and they can be more prone to pain and fatigue the lower their HP and stamina become.

**Age**: Muzikbots have a very long life expectancy, with records exceeding over two millennia. As the species continues to improve, it is unknown as to what the actual life expectancy is.

On Ferraton, the youngest age for partnership eligibility is 5 years, and eligibility for intergalactic travel is 10 years. On Barion, eligibility can be as soon as they spawn from the nursery.

***Sickness/Viruses/Cure***:

Chroma can be treated as a sickness as aside from providing power to the host, it does interfere with their normal state of mind (physically, mentally and emotionally).

Muzikbots do receive updates to their firmware on a regular basis to prevent unknown viruses from invading their systems. Like humans taking vaccines to prevent the odds of getting sick. If they happen to not update, they’d be likely to catch said virus.

Common symptoms for catching viruses involve systems malfunctioning or shutting down, and glitching could occur.

Each firmware update includes a recent version of antivirus protection. The upside about the updating process is that it cannot be interrupted once started. Downside to this is that muzikbots are left vulnerable of protection, meaning they are unable to use their skills until it’s completed. If caught said virus, the update will immediately cure them.

Performing updates on Ferraton takes an hour and a half, whereas it’ll take three hours outside anywhere else.

General Directive: Muzikbots are sent to planets to partner with citizens to help purify large sources of Chroma and free the planet from being permanently trapped into a musicless world of darkness. Any damage caused by chroma will be eventually restored.

Stats: Muzikbots have stats that vary in 5 categories: Attack, Defense, Speed, Support, and Special. Every muzikbot has abilities related to one superpower and are only limited to one Special skill. Support and special skills have cool down periods and can gradually reduce a muzikbot’s overall stamina when used in succession.

Attack - Level of direct or indirect damage
Defense - Level of resistance to damage or status conditions
Speed - Level of overall range of movement
Support - Level of buffs or positive effects applied to their partner or themself, debuffs or status conditions to opponents, and/or healing
Special - A strong, unique ability that pertains to one of the other four skills

Special Gauge: Muzikbots have an internal gauge that fills up over time. When maxed out, they can perform their special skill. This can be managed in a few ways:

1. Gauge will automatically fill at a slow, but moderate pace over time (fills faster when own genre is playing),
2. Gauge will only fill in short spurts for every attack used in succession,
3. Gauge will only fill in short spurts for every attack received and/or blocked.

Muzikbots aren’t limited to using their powers just for battle, and may hold resistance to certain elemental conditions depending on their move set.

Stat Break: During battle, whenever a stat or stats are maxed, muzikbots can push themselves to acquire a max stat of 11 instead of 10. Breaching this limit can be dangerous, as it can risk disabling skills over a prolonged time.

***General Rules for Stat/MoveSet Development***

  • Average stat totals range between 28-32.

  • No more than 1 stat can be at a max of 10.

  • Movesets must consist of 5 moves only, meaning attack, defense, speed, support and special should have 1 move each.

  • Moves that have a long effect must not exceed 3 minutes. Time effects can vary on what the move does and the stat itself.

  • Stats ranging between 8-10 are expected to have at least 1-2 drawbacks, which may vary on what the move does. Below are the common options:

    • Stamina/Health (HP)/Energy Cut

    • Knock Out

    • Vulnerability

    • Skill(s) Disabled for Limited Period

    • Induce Debuffs (stat(s) drop after use)

    • Stats Reset (if stat(s) were changed prior to use or part of the skill)

    • Status Conditions (i.e. Confusion, Sleep, Paralysis, Silence)

    • Limited Use

    • One-Time Use

          6. No skill can buff or debuff the special stat in any way.

Power Source: Muzikbots are powered by music! They’re also pretty great singers.

Music Box: Their music boxes act as safe houses for them as well as a self-charging zone. They can charge faster in this state if their own genre is playing. When in this form they can be mentally conscious, or in other words, able to hear anything taking place within the vicinity.

While active, muzikbots are able to detect other music boxes within a ten-mile radius, as long as the boxes are playing music.

Deactivation: Whether or not their energy gets too low, they can deactivate at will.

**Creation**: Muzikbots were created on planet Ferraton in a fairly special way. The planet has a large nursery-like chamber that houses hundreds of orbs that contain a lifeless, robotic shell, basically looking like the base you might have seen on the reference page. When an orb becomes vacant, a shell is inputted into the orb and a new life becomes a waiting game for a core to appear within the shell.

Muzikbots aren't able to leave the orbs until they truly discover what type of bot they want to be, so during this period they get introduced to different types of music, determine their personalities and the like. Only then will they be granted to customize their ideal forms prior to exiting.

The core itself determines the cosmetics, powers, stats, and resistance development (internal modifications will be made to support their stats as well as the superpower they chose while in the nursery). A core that spawns within a shell is totally random.

The nursery pods, however, aren’t completely confined to total solidarity, meaning that bots can look at other pods that have bots surrounding them. So if they see another muzikbot with a style they like, they could harbor it for themselves, but it’s not necessarily a clone.

There may be rare instances of the core of two bots sharing one body or two bots sharing the same orb.

For every new bot created, it gets updated within a database that updates in real-time, that way they can identify other muzikbots.

Their cores retain all of their data/memory (acts like a backup or a system restore). If their original body were destroyed, putting the core in a new body would just restore their original appearance. But to change only that is optional.

***Family Relation:*** Muzikbots technically don’t have family relations to each other, but it’s possible to have family-like interactions which could be related to whatever they have in common. These said interactions tend to take place outside of the nursery.

Ferraton: A futuristic, mobile planet that is home to muzikbots and travels the galaxy sending them to planets that are inhabited by chroma to purify them. It runs on music and dancing generated by the populace, and the planet itself maintains their energy as long as they’re on the planet. The planet will occasionally send out a positive force called a music core, which can distract chroma and draw them out for muzikbots to encounter.

Ferraton having two kinds of groups: one that solely protects the planet Ferraton and Barion are near, and another group that solely travels to further planets to purify chroma that had inadvertently surfaced on them.

To put it simply: those who were assigned for partnership still get sent to the designated planet in their box form, whereas those who aren’t could travel outside Ferraton to purify chroma elsewhere. Whether they are in groups or not, they can be provided a special companion called an Orba (www.deviantart.com/water-kirby… ) that can awaken them if needed.

Queen Mana is not one to really scrap defective cores. A bot born with a defective core is sent to the necessary channels for troubleshooting and rehabilitation. Also works well for the Devo teams in updates and bug fixes.

Queen Mana: Current ruler of planet Ferraton. She watches over muzikbot activity taking place on Earth, and sends muzikbots down to partner up with new citizens by means of fateful encounter. Whether or not the partnership is stable, she aspires them to get along despite their differences.

**Music Core**: A positive force that is occasionally sent by Ferraton to help draw chroma out and make it easy for muzikbots to encounter if they’re difficult to locate. Can also be created from concentrated chroma from a chromazome/chromatized victim, which is used for a process known as Purification and Restoration.

Barion: Barion is another mobile planet that travels to other worlds to spread a negative entity known as chroma, can inhabit citizens and muzikbots. The population mostly consists of muzikbots who have been fully overtaken by chroma, and thus having their bodies drained of color and constricted pupils.

Unlike Ferraton, Barion’s “nursery” evokes negativity and toxicity into the minds of cores, allowing chroma to overtake them prior to being born. Deciding how they want to look, powers/personalities to have is still their choice, but once born they’re constantly stuck fighting with the chroma trying to affect them until they choose whether to break its control (inadvertently purify themselves), become a chromazome, stay in a chromatized state (where the bot will constantly be in pain and have uncontrollable outbursts), or become fully chromatized (a state where chroma has fully controlled their victim, rendering them mindless and silent).

Lord Platin: Current ruler of planet Barion. Regularly relies on his underlings to spread chroma on Earth. He aspires to obtain enough negative energy to fully overpower planets faster and transform the citizens to enlarge his army.

Chroma: Chroma is a negative entity that is depicted in a form of miasma, spontaneously produced by Barion that gains strength from consuming music, and thus rendering their targets soundless. It typically inhabits citizens and/or muzikbots that undergo feelings of misery or a desire of destruction and power. It can also take on the appearance of objects.

Because chroma is a dark entity that grows through music/sound consumption and thrives on negative emotions, it wouldn’t be a surprise if it takes the form of someone or something as it evolves. It’s more functional if it had a vessel to latch on to. When prolonged, they can even latch onto fear to induce spreading.

Chroma lacks sound to propel skills on its own, so it’s commonly known to incite the host to spread it in its stead, giving them whatever singular superpower they desire.

Types of Disturbances: Chromatic disturbances, depending on how quickly the attack can spread, can be as little as public disturbances to as large as planetary.

Level One: Civic = People only

Level Two: Technological = Muzikbots/Technology Only

Level Three: Psychological = Muzikbots/Technology and People within a sizable group, give or take 100

Level Four: City Wide = Large facilities up to whole city disturbances

Level Five: Nationwide or Planetary = Countries and Continents

When Affected: Muzikbots that are affected tend to have their icons grayed out, whereas citizens affected have a dark music note seemingly noticeable on their body. The longer they remain affected, the stronger they can get. Over time, muzikbots become more metallic whereas the dark note on citizens will enlarge and spread across their body. Those affected will develop powers relevant to a talent affiliated with their frustration or misery. They can be capable of inflicting chroma on others, and are subjected to occasional, unstable power spikes. Ways to reverse the effects can be general reasoning, playing their favorite music, or face off in a music battle. Citizens chromatized without a muzikbot partner will have one randomly generated, having abilities related or helpful to their partner. Those purified of chroma after being affected once forget that they were affected, however, may remember bits and pieces of what they did if affected more than once.

Purification: A special process that’s designed to eliminate any damage done by a chroma crisis. Upon retrieving a music core, a muzikbot can use it to restore said damage back to its original state. This includes purifying the source of the crisis and all things that were damaged because of it. Purification can also heal and revive people and muzikbots that were affiliated with the crisis.

Purification can be treated as a double-edged sword. When applied to a chromatized victim/chromazome in reality it will purify them, whereas it only weakens chroma in hyper field battles.

Purification is more painful for chromazomes than chromatized victims, especially when the host isn’t willing to revert to normal.

**Chromazomes**:Fully chromatized muzikbots that pose as normal, and partner with those that aspire to create havoc across the city. They can’t be detected by other muzikbots with exception to other chromazomes, meaning the chroma within them goes undetected. Unlike those who’ve been affected, they’re able to inflict chroma onto others while not undergoing unstable power spikes. Chromatized victims generally have a cause for their frustration or misery, and would use their chroma-induced abilities to get back at their target. If muzikbots choose not to go after their target and instead prefer to affect others freely, chromazomes are formed.

Chromazomes tend to be more compact than a standard music box, making for easier travel with partners such as a trinket or accessory. Chroma within them is expendable, so in due time it replenishes itself and acts as a battery which makes it unnecessary to deactivate if they choose. Because chromazomes are basically freelance, they can pick their partner, transform at will, allow their partner to use their abilities without having to transform, and communicate with them telepathically. If the chromazome no longer values their partner to be of use, they could chromatize them prior to disbanding. They are also not required to be with their partner to cancel a partnership.

The purpose of partnering with chromazomes is to share common interests of spreading chroma. Within the margins, chromazomes cannot control their partners. However, it’s possible for them to perform psychological tricks that would encourage unethical habits.

Chromazomes aren’t required to have a partner, but can be stronger with one.

Although they are still capable of purifying chroma to keep a low profile, they do not like coming in contact with music cores or any form of purification. Coming in contact with these can cause a reaction that will painfully draw the chroma out of them if not stopped sooner. If a chromazome acknowledges that they truly want to be purified, the chroma removal process will be painless.

**Partnership**: Muzikbots particularly find citizens that they could partner with based on their musical knowledge. Muzikbots are destined to become partners with who they are initially assigned to regardless of how long it takes to be activated. When together, they are able to purify stronger forms of chroma. The stronger the bond, the more powerful they can be. If there's ever disharmony among partners or one is affected by chroma, resolving the issue will also strengthen the partnership.

A citizen can only have one muzikbot or chromazome as a partner and vice versa. Muzikbots must be with their partner to cancel a partnership.

If a citizen chooses to not be partners, two things could happen: the muzikbot would try to reestablish the partnership, or return home to Ferraton for a small opportunity to get reassigned to another partner. Normally a muzikbot is given 24 hours after their first awakening to establish a partnership before having to return home. If a partner thinks the muzikbot isn't suited for them, they can manually send them back home by tapping their icon panel when it displays a power symbol. If the muzikbot does get reassigned, they will have no memory of their past encounter.

After battling for the first time, muzikbots still give their partners the option to send them home at any time.

Muzikbots and partners cannot awaken another muzikbot. If a bot and partner have been out of commission for at least 48 hours, Ferraton can send down a temporary companion to wake the bot up and will remain with them till the partner is verified as conscious. If the partner is MIA or even deceased, the bot may return home to get reassigned or manually find a new partner.

Faux Partnership: A temporary partnership that doesn’t get affected by Harmony or Disharmony.

In cases that a muzikbot’s partner or orba is out of commission, they can offer to create a temporary partnership with another citizen. The acknowledgment results in a white music note visible on the citizen’s body. It’s invisible to everyone else except to the muzikbot.

When the orba or original partner awakens and the muzikbot chooses to wipe out the memory, the white mark disappears, taking the memories of their meeting with it. The mark also disappears without the memory wipe if the chroma invasion on the planet has ended.

Prior to the invasion ending, if the muzikbot chooses not to wipe the citizen’s memories, the mark does not fade.

Partnership Acknowledgement: A method that muzikbots use to make a partnership official. Generally a muzikbot initiates by a handshake that projects their icon, and their partner shakes with it to seal the acknowledgement. However, there are other methods that a muzikbot can use to initiate a partnership (i.e. high five, fist bump, etc.).

Wake Up Call: A particular phrase that the partner says to awaken a muzikbot from their music box.

Harmony: When a partnership is strong, muzikbots develop a passive buff known as Harmony, which is a temporary status that strengthens their abilities. This buff also weakens chroma.

Disharmony: When a partnership is weak, muzikbots can get a passive buff known as Disharmony, which can weaken their abilities and cause partners to lose focus. This buff also strengthens chroma.

Hyper Field: A virtual field accessed on a plane of reality different than current. It is randomly generated by muzikbots and was designed to minimize damages to the current world and is used to partake in fair music battles.

The general purpose of the hyper field is to contain the source of the chroma in question and prevent any additional damage they might unintentionally bring to the world. It becomes easier to clean up.

An exception to an unfair battle is if the battle doesn’t take place within the field and is not a 1 v 1 or 2 v 2 setup, that of which muzikbots would also face severely damaging the area they’re fighting in.

A hyper field can guarantee a purified or chromatized music core to the victor.

Music Battles: Various battles usually initiated by chroma to test muzikbots and their level of partnership. These battles are only performed to guarantee a fair playing field.

    Types of Battles:

Beat Drop - A 3-round call & response battle that has the initiator play a short mix or mashup and the competitor counter it with their own. If the counter mix was successful, the competitors gain a point. Their audience consists of other partners who accept the invitation, and are given the choice to vote which side had the best mix.
Race to the Top - In case there’s a music core roaming around and both a muzikbot and a chroma encounters it, both will initiate this game where they would race to the top of a randomly-generated virtual structure to get to it. Partners are granted to use their muzikbot’s abilities, but they only have access to one of each for the whole duration.
Duel - A 3-round battle that is either partner vs. partner or muzikbot vs. muzikbot within a virtual ring. Objective is to touch their opponent’s icon panel or knock them out of the ring. Each contact with their panel syphons some of the loser’s energy each round. Whoever accepts the challenge can only receive verbal assistance. Partners are granted to use their muzikbot’s abilities if facing their opponent.
Muzik Ball - In a virtual world with the ability to adjust your own gravity, both competitors work together to try and launch a ball into their opponent’s goal, which is a large wall behind them. Both teams are not allowed to leave their side of the court. First team to 3 points wins.
Lost in the Sound - Both teams get separated into a randomized, virtual labyrinth in all four corners and must be the first to find each other and reach the center.
Battle of the Beat - A 3-round music battle that tests the strength of partnership. Both teams start with 3 stocks in the form of shields. The stronger the partnership, the powerful their song can project to the other team. The challenger initiates the battle, which sends a stream of music towards a barrier. The barrier breaks once the other team sends their stream to match the intensity, and both sides will try to increase the intensity enough to break a shield. If it breaks, a new round begins.
Power Royale - A free-for-all battle consisting of either partner vs. partner or muzikbot vs. muzikbot within a virtual field. Both sides fight using abilities affiliated with their muzikbot. Winner is chosen once a partner is unable to battle.

Team Battles (consisting of two or more pairs per team):

Dance Fever - (Just Dance inspired) Teams must mirror a dance using a shadow as a guide. Whichever team performs the best wins the challenge.
Face the Music - Teams are placed at the center of a randomized virtual field consisting of many obstacles. Both are given a clue that requires them to find a music clip relating to it within the field, and return to the center to play it back. If correct, they will be given another clue. First team to 3 wins.
Capture the Sound - A capture the flag-based challenge that puts teams at a virtual base with a team icon. Both teams are required to retrieve the opposing team’s icon and return it to their base.
Audio Tag - Teams play on a randomized virtual course wearing icon panels acting as targets. First to rack the most points by hitting their targets within a 3-minute time limit wins the challenge.
Team Power Royale - A battle consisting of either partners vs. partners or muzikbots vs. muzikbots within a virtual field. Both sides fight using abilities affiliated with their muzikbots. Winner is chosen once a team is unable to battle.
  • Have fun creating!!!

2 questions, 1, would I be able to take Muzikbot design requests (for free, I just wanna design a bunch without them going to waste)/free adopts? and 2, do Muzikbots only partner with humans or are other species a possibility? (the universe for my ocs uses mostly monsters and other species, humans are a minority) thanks in advance ^.^

Remember what I said in Discord?

“That’s more or less generic designs. It’d be a hassle to add every different kind of optical lens and antennas currently, since most are considered too unique in a sense to copy.”

Guess what, I turned 2 of my Kirby OC's into Muzikbots! It was Jarron and Marry but I will make one of my own, I just have not really decided it yet, but I know I will make it have a water and love element

Wait, muzikbots are mass produced at their base state?

I think I know how second chances can happen...

Perhaps if a muzikbot was destroyed, their soul becomes a music core and can access a base state muzikbot for another chance?

You mean like a reincarnation? That can happen, but they won’t have any recollection of their past life(s).

Well, more of a rebirth. Learning from the mistake that costed their past life/lives.

I’m planning on making one or even two, possibly one themed around happy hardcore and one themed around pop punk.

Hm....Interesting. If I do make a character for this I'd probably make one based off of Just Shapes and Beats

I'm thinking of making one of these now! You inspired me! It'll probably be a synth-pop inspired one.
