I like the yin-yang aspect to this.

Really Great! I love how I can see the shading of his facial features beneath the mask; that's the sort of thing I wouldn't have thought of. It's a very nice detail that adds more realism to the piece.

It's good that you be prodding: part of me is still afraid to try it lol. But who knows? It could be a great advancement for me.
I think the main reason I'm turned off by them is of how much a mess they seem to be for me. I toss my colored pencils and markers haphazardly about everywhere, but I've got to be professional with paints. . . And I must also remember not to overdo the water. . .
PS suggestion of good watercolor paints?

Welllll I'm a cheepy, I get what I can get, but the set I have is uh...
"Loew Cornell Simply Art 36 watercolors"
and it was a cheep set too, and it's lasted me a while - so i guess i suggest that - but when they dry, Lines tend to fade behind it, while most watercolors technically aren't supposed to do that.... But I kinda like it.
I think I had a Crayola set before this one.... >_> so I guess it varies. The Crayola set was brighter and more... inky? I'd say - it gets sucked right into the paper (which I think is 'correct' - again, not an expert...)
and this one is more pithy and chalky and sits on top of the paper a little instead of soaking in all the way.

I'd try something from the wally wally wall mart then >w> (also, I think it's best to start with less colors, mixing is a good skill to learn) all you really need is red blue, yellow and black 👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Well, white doesn't really work in watercolor, that's the thing..... and you can't really erase it or paint over it with white out....
