[ Restless ]
Des is an active dog. He always needs to be doing something in order to feel comfortable or like he’s being useful. He doesn’t like dogs who don’t work for their share, and usually will attempt to pull more than his own weight.

[ Predictable ]
Being of a simple-minded nature, this dog is extremely predictable. He wear his heart on his sleeve, and his what he thinks on his tongue. Nothing about this guy is surprising. He looks as he should act and he acts as he looks.

[ Brutish ]
With a barrel-like chest, and strong legs, Des is a powerhouse of muscle. Though, not as strong as bigger dogs, his endurance makes up for it. He throws his weight around and has a good sized ego. He often loses sight of being smart about things because of his need to show himself off. This makes his "Wits" pretty low overall as a dog.

[ Hot-Tempered ]
He is very easily angered, and will snap at nearly anyone. He stands up for what he believes in, and if you don’t think similarly you might as well ‘be thrown to the dogs.’ He has a pretty violent attitude and it sometimes shows through in his vocabulary. He doesn’t hold much back, so watch out mothers!

[ Cocky ]
Because Des throws his weight around so easily, he can get a big cocky. He will do anything to prove that he is stronger, better, smarter; ANYTHING. He likes challenges, and he definitely likes showing others up. He gets some sort of satisfaction knowing that he’s better than others.

[ Loner ]
Being by himself for so long, it’s not unusual to see DeSoto by himself. He doesn’t usually bother himself with females or minors. He feels the only one he needs to depend on is himself. But don’t believe him, he likes the attention when helping others.

[ Tenacious ]
Des is a fierce fighter, but losing contact with an older, more tactical based trained Des has cost him smart fighting. He will usually just rush in and do what needs to be done.

[ Proud ]
Des is proud of who he is and where he came from, despite recent incidents. He won’t let others talk shit about him, and isn’t afraid of confronting others based on their opinions of him. He shows it in his stature.

[ Protective ]
Despite being a ‘loner’, this dog actually gets off to helping others, though he won’t admit it. He believes it to be a weakness that could hold him back in the future. This is why he doesn’t usually like to spend time around others. He’s afraid of getting close to other dogs. If he talks to you, even if badly, feel pretty special because he probably likes you.

[ Assertive ]
He walks around like he’s an Alpha most of the time. He has no problems in sharing his ‘two-cents’, and it’s not unusual to see him bossing around those younger than him.

*Des got his scars from previous attacks with other dogs. Surprisingly, he really hasn’t encountered many Roamers, and hasn’t gotten any scars besides those from fighting other loner dogs when he was younger.

History:
DeSoto was born in a litter of three as pups of a K-9 Unit prodigy and a Security-Trained female. He was the middle son of purebred Dobermans, Sinclair and Scarlette. His brothers, Orion and Reilly and him were always the rough-housing bunch. Their parents and their human family did not discipline them much as pups besides the occasional potty-training. They were raised to be ‘tough and fearless” and that is what they strived to be.

Their dog’s masters, Officer Fanton and his wife were both in policing businesses, and their two dogs were the best of the best. Sinclair and Scarlette pushed the pups to do the best they could so they could someday obtain the same status.

Around the time the pups had reached eight weeks old, they were sold to be trained for other areas that needed security dogs, but only DeSoto was kept by the family, as he was to become his father’s prodigy in every shape and manner. He worked hard, and by the time he reached a year old, the pup had learned almost all there was to learn. He was a bit hyperactive, but he was nearly as good as his father at sniffing things out the humans wanted, or catching criminals in the training area.

Unfortunately, the time had come for humanity to end, and soon the city that DeSoto’s family had become overrun with a smell of death.

"It happened on a happy day, when the Fantons had left my father, mother, and I at home as they went on a trip to town. Officer Fanton had returned not much later, with a stench of blood on him. He was acting weird, and my mother and I were wary. But my father was too loyal for his own good. My mother and I watched as our once beloved master had attacked his own partner.

I was pretrified that something like this could even happen, and my mother pushed me to leave, telling me to get as far away as possible. I didn’t know where to go, but my feet never stopped, even after I had glanced back and had seen a glimpse of my mother leaping at Officer Fanton.

I’ve kept clear of humans from then on, whether they smelled normal or not. I wasn’t stopping to check. I don’t trust much of anything anymore, and as I grew up on the streets and countryside I found myself fighting other dogs to get what I needed. I only had myself to worry about, and I wasn’t going to carry any extra ‘baggage’ along with me.

I definitely wasn’t going down without a fight. I soon found myself in a city overrun by humans, and despite my loner nature, I couldn’t keep myself from joining a pack of dogs. It’s extra protection, and I haven’t really warmed up to the nature of it exactly, but I can’t really state my opinion of it. Nothing bad has happened to me, so I’m gonna wait it out here a bit longer.

Who knows what could happen…"

Tan paws padded down a pathway just inside Cahayan territory, kicking up dust. "I've done it!" a voice whispered excitedly. The young tom slunk along the edge of building cautiously. Who knew what lived in Cahayan territory anyways? As far as he knew, Cahayans were probably just a bunch of cats with the intelligence of mice. The striped tom laughed at the thought. Reece was currently an escaped 'convict'. The Suran student was WAY outside of the boundaries this time, and he padded along with no-fear of what consequences he might recieve. He just wanted to explore, that should be a good enough excuse, right?
