The colors (green & blue on the truck) look fantastic!

That grass looks surprisingly fluffy. Interesting to see that the car appears green rather than red now.

The fenders were originally blue, and the cab was green, these were pretty standard colours back then

Ah, I was comparing to the thumbnail in the description with the red car I guess. My bad.

thanks Janie,
I am not really sure what it is about the picture that you like, but there are two others of the same vehicle on my other gallery, one is called Desperado II (not much imagination in that I am afraid) the other was just posted and may not be visible yet, but is called "Four on the Floor."
Both will eventually be posted here, but unfortunately they will only be sold through the other gallery, along with th eother old car pictures.
thanks again for your interest.

thanks again Jane,
it is easy to resist rescuing them...it simply costs too much.
If you do take a look, and feel like it, let me know what you think.

Hi Wayne,
I went over and took a look at "Four on the Floor", and your comments on it. What a fascinating image, the old roof just emerging from yet another winter's snow. I suppose she'd be totally covered all winter? I loved the observation of the tree replacing the gear stick (shift?) Are you familiar with the Greek legend of Daphne turning into a tree to escape Apollo because your picture reminded me of that.
I understand about them being too expensive to rescue. Last year I found a 1942 Chevvy pickup for sale, still in running order but in original condition, imported from Arizona into the U.K. It cost an arm and a leg so I missed out on it. It was pretty wonderful though. Smelled great!

thanks Janie,
Words are such funny things. Up here we call it a shift, I guess you call it a stick. The term is familiar to me, but not common, sometimes I have hear them together...stick shift. That is one of the things I like about the internet, getting to hear different ways of referring to similar things.
Sorry you missed out, but there are many more. I will be posting on on dA called J Stewart Farmer, it is a 48 or 48 International truck. Still in working order. I know where an identical model is which is in better shape because it has been out of the weather more. It is amazing to me how many of these vehicles still exist. Not including a guy who collects them (he may have 200) I know of 30 or 40. Some of them can't be photographed though because of location. So I guess I will just shoot them, and like you, leave the restoration to others.
thanks again.

Wayne,
I agree, it's fascinating finding how we express ourselves differently. I just found out what "boondocks" means. Now I can't imagine how I managed without the word!
I'll look out for your Stewart Farmer. Over here we don't have so many just abandoned to gently rot away. They tend to disappear to the local scrap yard instead and so are lost. But I love that you're making this record of them in those stunning photographs. Incidentally my hubby's very jealous of the guy who owns 200 of them!
Cheers,
Janie👍: 0 ⏩: 0

This one seem to have a nice relationship with the plants. ^___^
nice as always, thanks for your work

ROFL...
thanks Martina.
I have been wondering that myself, i think I have become an old car magnet.
Seriously though, I just think that a lot of old cars, before 1950 were just parked and left because they had so little value. Back in those days, farmers just parked them on the edge of a field and left them there because they had so little value. Then the farm was sold, and the vehicle forgotten, the trees grwe up around it, and it has been hidden for years.
I found another truck on Friday and spent a bit of time talking to the farmer about taking a picture. I have permission, but I probably won't shoot until next year becuause of the angle of light available right now.

Actually i think it is just a magnet. I seem to find things like this all over. I found another old truck Friday but won't shoot it until next summer.

I think it is important. if people take the time to say anything the least I can do is respond. And some people say more, so I try to respond. I will keep it up as long as I can.
Right now i only post 2 pictures a week because I can't keep up otherwise. I will reduce that if necessary.
