Description Escape into nature is something that I have done many times over my life.  As I have grown older however, and lived longer in cities, I notice that my connection to nature has become less intense. Even my sense of direction is not as keen as it was in my youth.  Perhaps it is just a matter of growing up, or maybe when we do not commune with a part of ourselves the ability lessens.

Taken early one morning at Caddy Lake in White Shell Provincial Park.  The haze was caused by forest fires.

Yeah, I know the feeling, or 'lack of' in regards to the connection with nature...I find myself looking more for paved paths with conveniences like coffee shops (and the like...)close by instead of nature-trails anymore.

WayneBenedet In reply to Seraphestus [2019-01-11 15:53:53 +0000 UTC]

lol... in this we are different,  I still long to walk a path, and not be able to see what is around the next bend.  I like to feel the dew on bare feet in the grass.  I guess in some ways we never grow up.

Yeah, it's just I USED to be all for nature trails morning-dew on the tootsies and cool misty morning air...I need to shake out my 'closet' and find out what I did with that part of ME.

WayneBenedet In reply to Seraphestus [2019-01-11 23:24:58 +0000 UTC]

lol... well I certainly wish you luck.  I hope the closet is not too big, too full and totally uncharted.  Go carefully my friend, take a compass or a cell phone.  One never know what dangers lie ahead

This is a wonderful capture Wayne - Great composition. I really like the movement that gives the location of the three elements (sun, bench and tree) in the image, and in the background the haze and the reflection of the sun.

(Maybe it would have been better without the dark cube in front, but well ... not always things are in the place that one wants  )

thanks Alejandro.

The dark cube n front is a fire pit.  For those of us who camp, and have had this experience if coming out to the water on an early morning it adds a special touch of nostalgia.  The of course is a personal things, to others, like yourself, it does not add anything.

Ahhh, OK, I understand the detail perfectly.
I used to go out a lot of camp several years ago. In general, free camping - not organized (I do not know exactly what is said in English). Especially in the southern mountainous area of Argentina.
Now I can more easily incorporate this element into the imgen.

This place in within a provincial park, it as managed land, but the camping is not organized.  The province has set up a few camp sites, but it is first come first serve.  There are no facilities so one had to be able to camp without any supports other than what you bring along.  I go with a friend who is about 15 years younger than I am.  I trust him totally.

That is why I continue to spend time in nature David.  It is the connection.  It is something that I did for 5 days last summer.  We were alone on an island.  The plan it to go back to another island this summer.
