It's the Outcast... I see some civilization off in the distance there (hay bales, some buildings)... this one lived on the fringe, standing alone and it's still defiantly getting by...on its own.

it is very similar to the country south in the US, but then again different.

I was going to say something about those mountains before reading your own comments ... I can't quite explain it but they "make" this image "more" It's quite beautiful!!

It is funny Sophia, I like the mountains, and I like to visit them but the prairie is my home.Β So a place like this in my mind is the best of both worlds.

I completely understand...my two are mountains and oceans but it's harder to find a place that captures the essence of both at the same time with mountains seemingly further away from the ocean than the prairies

lol... I agree.
I once hiked up to a lake call Loch Lomand just outside of Thunder Bay.Β The city uses this lake for water.Β There is no beach... the lake is on the top of a mountain that was formed by volcanic activity so the rocks drop straight into the water.Β It was impossible to tell how deep it was.Β The cliffs were about 50 feet above the water.Β I did not like standing at the edge and looking down.

I can well imagine the unease of standing on that edge. It sounds like a good place to keep the water, because people might be less temped to "hang-out" there and throw litter in the lake. It also sounds quite beautiful.

at the time I was on the mountain (about 35 years ago) there was no access.Β One had to walk in through the bush.
