I'm italian, I went there as a tourist! It was a really beautiful city, people are so nice and everything was so cheap XD I didn't want to leave! haha

oh yeah, Krakov is really beautiful city, one of the most beautiful cities in Poland
But you have to see Wrocław and Łódź (I'm not sure how to write these names in english), they're beautiful as well
It's great to hear you enjoyed your stay in Poland
