I like the hair detail in the piece. Yeah, hair takes forever but its actually sometimes well worth it. I like the starting point for shadow and the subtle colors in the lips and eyes. Really captivates the viewer to look at more than just the hair. I also like the slight shadows by her eyes.

For another piece, don't hesitate to look at a reference just for the expression. The expression is what I believe is the central focus of the piece so exercising your ability to try referencing would help you focus on the overall tone and mood of a piece. You have a great start especially with the color choice so adding in a focal point like the expression can really help you.

I love the eyes. I have a thing with eyes.
Lol the hair is nice too... thats a lot to do with a pen!
