Heads up - I'm going to be taking the week off for TFCon and getting that organised and sorting out that stuff and thus not drawing. Which means the next page will be up on July 20th.Start from the beginning of this arc.

Taking a second look at this page because it amuses me so. Those pointy shoulders make Reade into the most adorable little vampire bat. My sister points out that his name should be pronounced "Ree- ahd" since it's French.

Reade is the worst vampire in the vampire!AU, getting hauled around by Fingal, who is yelling, "I KNOW she's wearing a filmy nightgown, maidens just dress like that, stop blushing you dweeb, you need to eat! Hi, we're vampires, my idiot brother wants to bite you but he's too shy. You mind?"
Except it is Old English/Scottish.

My sister and I will be waiting with eager anticipation for your return. (I got her into the series and now we read it together. 
It also gives a pleasant insight as to whether Tal be good with kids. I thought we might see him interact with Eryn at the lighthouse, but sadly, plot did not demand it. We've mostly seen Tal's "When I think about children it's in an abstract-future kind of sense. I remember him saying to Zephonith that he'd like to have enough love for all of them. That comes with him witnessing firsthand how hard it is when a mother's love isn't fairly divided. But he also has this vague "I'm going to be a terrible father" complex because "family obligation." And yet...
#1: The cousins feel safe talking to him even though they really just met over dinner. And this is a serious 'could get you banished' by some of the more extreme family members type of conversation
#2: He takes time to reassure Reade that he'll at least listen.
#3 He doesn't make false promises or say what isn't true.
#4 Even though he's semi-annoyed with Fingal, he doesn't shut down the boy for having his own opinions.
#5 He reasons with the cousins as if they are small adults instead of talking down to them. (Come to think of that, he did that with Gilou even when she was calling him "bloodless.") I think so long as he isn't thinking about 'what am I doing, what if I screw this up' he'll be good with his own kids.
Aside from that, I love all the expressive poses. I also like how you're very distinct in giving each of them their own body language. Reade seems all floppy to me-- very adolescent "I've not got all control over my limbs yet." He's like a very nervous big-pawed puppy. Panel 4 is so adorable. Fingal keeps stealing the show with the one-liners. I love that exaggerated dropped jaw. "Yeees." Also I love this room's wallpaper. It's less stressful than the rest of the house.
