Description Because really, who doesn't?

(And yes, just like my others, I'm gonna be a bitch for a moment). So, I've seen all these "I hate anime! stamps (coming from people who probably haven't watched enough of it to actually have an opinion). And I have no problem with people not liking anime. I will not try to convert them. I will not force some fetish of girls with cat ears upon them (by the way, I do not have any fetish for girls with cat ears; I'm straight, people). And I most certainly will not flame/attack them simply because they hate something I like. End of story.

But, I have personally experienced a weaboo. They are frightening creatures, my friends. Very frightening creatures. And that was the first time I heard of anime, too. Naturally, I thought it did that to everyone, so I had made up my mind never to watch it. And then my sister met a normal fan. He watches the anime. He reads the manga. He writes occasional fanfiction. And that was it. As you can tell, we followed his example. But, there will always be the people who think they are Japanese. We will be forever plagued by them. If you have made it this far, I congratulate you. Now, if your eyes still work, I'd like to tell a funny story about my sister's own encounter (yeah, all the fun stuff happens to her).

Okay, so my sister found a similar stamp that I did. And she commented something similar to "I like anime, but I will admit, there are some animes better off not being translated, let alone being made." And she gets a note from this weaboo telling her something along the lines of "you baka!! anime is awesome and you must not be a fan! you stupid bakayaro!!" And my sister, ever the sarcastic one, calmly replies "wow. a real life weaboo." You can imagine how angry she gets, calling her a baka and all sorts of things, ending it with "i'm not a weaboo, you're the weaboo!" And Brooke says, "where did you learn the word 'baka'?" "anime." "I rest my case."

I love her.

My friend told me a story about how some girl wrote "kawaii desu ne" on a shirt she wore to anime expo, but she wrote it as "kawaee desu nae" and I cried

Thank you! I really needed this. I got called a weaboo because of "ichigo" in my name....which means strawberry. However, I don't do a lot of the things weeaboos do. This caused a whole argument in the chatroom I was in. I was just saying that it isn't really good to use words that you don't know the proper context and meaning to. I had to get out of there because I was getting fried badly.

I just wanted to be on good terms!

Do you know what annoys me about weebs... other than being weebs?

"Des-ooo"

It's pronounced "Des", and it means... is, I think?
So
"Baka desu" Is "Is idiot" I think?

Weaboos are annoying, especially to actual fans of anime and japanese culture who have liked it before it was mainstream and hip. They're annoying both because they look and act ridiculous, butchering the Japanese and English languages simultaneously and not knowing the meaning of half the Japanese words they say (ie: anyone in Japan would NOT call themselves an otaku). They're annoying because anime enthusiasts often get lumped into the same category as them because they're among the most prominent anime fans lingering around on the internet. They're also annoying because they claim to have encyclopedic knowledge of anime and manga yet most of them just watch or read the same cutesy, cliche "kawaii-desu bishie" crap that happens to be mainstream and most have never even heard of stuff like Akira, Lupin III, Macross or Hokuto no Ken, much less actually take the time to watch said shows. That's my opinion on weaboos.

And when Weaboos try to Roleplay... Oh my god
and I'm normally the one that tells them to stop then everyone joins in with me.. Maybe not in the nicest way possible but then again.. I really have no patience with people like them.
Most people in the chat: "Please stop we're trying to do a SERIOUS RP here"
Weaboo 1: *pets 2 and smiles* n-nya you are so kawaii-desu!
Weaboo 2: *blushes* o///o t-thakn you
Me:"Please just get the fuck out of our chat"
Weaboo 1: *cries* wai are u being so mean 2 us?!
Weaboo 2: -.- yeah we werelnt doing anything
Me: Don't you all have another fucking chat were you can do this?
Weaboo 1: *yelling* SROP IT U AR E BEING A SHEET BISH AND WE DIDN EVEBN DO ANYTING WORNG YOU JUST WANNA BOTHER US BCUZ WE ArE ACTAUALLY ROPLAYING RIGHT
Weaboo 2: -.- Yeah ur just a lil bish tryna fudge us up!!!
Me: Please chill with your 3rd grade language, I'm pretty sure the other day one of your friends posted a link to another place where you can continue with this shit.
Weaboo 1: *cries and hugs 2*
Weaboo 2: shh ignorfe her she just being a bish

You've made your point. Only a weaboo would make the mistake of attempting Japanese without the slightest knowledge of it's grammar.

For example, "bakayaro" is "Seriously, are you that stupid?" or "You JERK!" and therefore a phrase. They used a phrase as a noun.

God, I'm really becoming mother with these grammar corrections. ._.

I used to be a weaboo. I think many anime fans were at one point, but then grew out of it sometime in their early years of High school.

Weaboos ruin EVERY fandom they infest with their Mary Sues and "Japanese". I have a friend that sits with me at lunch who is a weaboo, and I know of several weaboos around dA.

I think once you graduate from middle school you shouldn't be allowed to use the word "KAWAII" nor should you add "words" onto people's names for NO REAL REASON.

Anime is cool, but ppl liek, just tomare, you baka!! *uses english to romaji translator to say yet more defensive things* So tht's tht, I'm not evn going 2 tlk cuz this..." (Whew, that was soo hard to type.)

I'm trying to learn Japanese ( IDK why, because it's fun to talk in other languages, and it's... I just like to talk in different languages... I really don't know why, but not because I'm some greasy anime and manga and yaoi loving girl that eats pocky all day and eats ramen and squid on pizza just because it's popular w/Japan ) But when I try to speak it, I do it PROPERLY. I don't mix a few kawaiis and desus and nekos and chans and -sans and -samas and nee~s in w/English.

And every time i post a comment like this the rabid weaboos send me messages. "like oh my kami what is wrong with you!!! baka! have you ever even seen a anime?!?" im actually learning the language to visit my pen pals (wich is very hard because of all the character systems they have). I didn't learn about anime until I got past the country's history. so my dear good deviant art user i applaud you for making this and showing weaboos just what they are!

LOL, weaboos are annoying. There's one in my class. She calls me a baka because I don't like anime. She also hates living in Norway and constantly keeps saying she wishes she was Japanese because Japanese people are apparently so much prettier and culturally advanced and cooler and whatever. It's okay to like Japan and anime, but don't take it too far.

Srsly weaboos are so annoying. {There is a perfect example of a weaboo in my literary magazine club - fat, disgusting, NEVER takes a bath, greasy face, smells terrible, randomly puts japanese language in her speech, obsessed with anime, and draws herself as a cat-girl with two-toned hair with bright, painful colors on MS paint.} As are the people who claim to hate anime. There is this annoying 'emo poet' guy in my literary magazine club, who says 'all anime sucks'. Being a major Miyazaki fan, I promptly told him that he wasn't worth the dirt that Miyazaki stood on.
His comeback?
"Why would anyone care about someone who's name nobody can even pronounce?"
Srsly?
Mi. Ya. Za. Ki. It's spelled just how it looks. Yet he pretends to be all smart and deep, and he is scarily close-minded.

Those people make me laugh. But, I think I can top it. I have a friend who always calls me "April onee-chan," her boyfriend (excuse me, EX-ex-boyfriend) calls her Tenshi, and she writes Mary-Sue crossover stories where Sasuke, Inyasha, Kakashi, and Hitsugaya are all in love with her (but, she chooses the guy with dog ears; I'd have gone with dragon boy ). However, I don't hear much about the music she listens to. But, she likes to explain to people in detail what yaoi is. *shudder*

Oh this is a really, really good stamp. I agree with it 100%, actually.

But you're a little more tolerant than I am, because you seem to not to care much even if someone is totally badmouthing everything about something you like. THAT bothers me. But no, I will not try to convert people into "Weabooism".

I watch anime, my friends watch at least one anime... I think that maybe one out of every TEN people in the United States (My country c DON'T read or watch an anime/manga. Sure, lots of us lie about it. It's a silly thing! But those who ruin the Japanese culture...

Japan ain't just about usingthe word "kawaii" about eight zillion times and ending everything with "Chan". I actually know what most of the suffixes are used for (I don't do research; it just HAPPENS when you do the manga/anime thing XD) and honestly, calling your teachers and people you don't know "chan" is just creepy. I mean. I'm not an expert on Japan. I will probably never go there. But I know enough to like the anime and manga, yet sort of have my own art style and not think everything is kawaii desu.

....Long comment is long.

We-Be-Cool In reply to WolfZant [2010-04-10 14:13:35 +0000 UTC]

Thanks.

Yeah, I'm a pretty laid back person. If someone doesn't like it, fine, I'm not going to shove it down their throats. I've had that done to me before and it's a rather, ah, "uncomfortable" situation, if you can catch my meaning. If they badmouth it, I try to react calmly (to those who do it on a daily basis, not at all) and tell them to "shut the f*** up or you'll piss me off and make me violent," but in a nice way.

Oh, I can't remember all the animes I've watched (watching seven right now, actually), but I have found a large group of people who do, and that's who I really care about and what they say affects me more than the others who haven't seen one episode of any series. Anime and manga are very popular in the US (also my country ), and the percentage of the population that makes up the fans is growing. But I don't like listening to the haters at all. Makes me look like this:

Yeah, I have a weaboo friend. We've tried telling her, but she's denied it all, and we've given up hope on ever bringing her into the light. We just put up with her Mary-Sues and the annoying nickname of "Onee-chan." She even has a weaboo boyfriend who calls her "Tenshi." (I'm going to hope you know what those mean, otherwise I can tell you.) I plan to go to Japan one day, but I'm more interested in the culture and history. Their traditions and culture are very different from ours, and being a proud nerd, I want to experience it for myself. But I also want to see Italy, Belgium, Germany, England, Ireland, and tons of other places. I've already been to Scotland (beautiful place), and lots of foreigners come from all over the world to see it. Scotland is rich in history and culture, so you can imagine that was an amazing week.

....Long comment AND I get off topic at the end. Whoops.
