Description During her ongoing quest to acquire magical entities for both maidification, as well as the conversion of their unique μ Wave Energies to quantum fuel for her personal space battleship, Leviathan, Nomoko had found one particular species of being to uniquely useful for both purposes.

Dragons, in particular, Belle Dragons--the female of the species--are widely renowned for both their raw magical power, as well as the ethereal, otherworldly beauty the acquire, when assuming human form. It was obvious that these creatures would make ideal Conversion Maids. However, it was equally obvious that the very power which inspired Nomoko's fixation, also made them quite difficult--even dangerous to ,"recruit".

To address this challenge, Nomoko took 100 of her μ-Wave negating Knight Bears, and optimized them specifically for the task of apprehending Belle Dragons. Increasing their agility, strength, and Dispiriting Field output above even the impressive stats of standard KB's, uprating their armor and fur to withstand temperatures in excess of 1,668°C, and providing them with special swords, capable of focusing and directing their DFG effect, the wily gynoid created an elite class of Knight Bear to be eventually known as the Dragonslavers1.

With armor, styled to resemble ancient dragon "slayer" knights, the Dragonslavers exert a massive psychological impact upon their victims, and are proving a growing scourge of the magical community at large. So effective are their exploits, that Nomoko has taken on the elite bears as her personal bodyguard.

Pictured above is Sir Bearomir2, top ace Dragonslaver, and the captain of Nomoko's personal guard. His sword, which has been the end of as many Bull Dragons as it has swatted the ends of maidified Belle Dragons, is known far and wide as Heaven's Claw.

1.) No, that's not a typo.

2.) FYI, Bearomir has a 292 second younger production twin, who wears red armor, and answers to the name Furromir. There are 98 other Dragonslavers. Expect MANY bear-related Lord of the Rings puns in the future.

You have a good point regarding the forms. I need to work on a reason why the super-model-hotness forms are the ones getting maidified, in spite of the magic limitations.

The bot in that picture is a standard Knight Bear, which are weaker, and not as well armored as the Dragonslavers. It needs a standard drone as back-up, plus it only hunts witches and other less prodigious magical beings.

Nomoko has given the Dragonslavers their own mounts. Think My Little Ponies dressed like Percherons. And they have been known to conduct adorable little cavalry charges.

Because supermodel-forms fit better in French Maid outfits of course.  And you wouldn't want a dragon-form maid knocking over half the stuff she's supposed to be cleaning with her tail. *grin*

Absolutely, positively true! But I do like to have a reasonable sounding canonical explanation. I'll just have to put it in the back of my mind until a really good one comes to me.

I guess, you could always just say that the dragons fully transform themselves into humanoids, and the Dispiriting Field simply prevents the dragon from casting the spell again to transform herself back into dragon form, if that works.

Their minds are downloaded into cloned humanoid bodies while their real bodies are used as magical batteries?  Or given that Nomoko is becoming more and more magically focused, perhaps she's come into contact with an Eldritch Abomination that is forcing the dragons in to humanoid form in exchange for the bodies of male dragons?

BTW, that's a lot of "Hidden by Owner" in the thread.  What's-his-name was being somewhat strident when I was online last night, but did he really get so bad you needed to block his stuff?  Or did he block it himself in some kind of huff?

Interesting ideas, but not quite what I'm looking for. (Although admittedly, I don't know what is myself. ) I think Nomoko would be a little in over her head with an abomination. Granted, her hubris is so great, and she is so utterly convinced of her own divinity, that it wouldn't be inconceivable for her to make such a deal, but I'm not ready to hoist her on that particular petard.

I do like the suggestions still. I would enjoy hearing any other ideas you may have.

Who's to say that the type of transformation that Dragons undergo when they change size would be un-done when their source of magic is removed? Why isn't it more like a Transporter matter conversion? That way, it's a permanent change that can't be reverted without having access to the very thing that caused it in the first place.

I mean, Melanie's dispiriting bell collar keeps her from reverting back down to fairy size. The same type of thing would apply to that too. No magic, no energy to convert matter.

Bear in mind that dragons are such magical creatures that Nomoko is only hastening the scenarios we discussed in this thread....comments.deviantart.com/1/3314…

Prehaps, but those scenarios involved the magi being held on FMP. Since then, Nomoko has developed a monopoly on magic users and creatures, and is keeping them all on Leviathan.

Admittedly, this makes the great vessel a mystical power keg, but at least it won't take all the Robolords with it when it goes.

Actually, the scabbard folds open along the hinges lining it's bottom, to permit access.

interesting little creatures indeed, it will be interesting to see them in combat in the future, im sure it will be a spectacle seeing them take down and capture these belle dragons, or seeing them reactive if someone ever got close enough to nomoko to pose a threat (how ever minor it would be)

i do love the idea of the DFG but i do have a question, why has one never been put into a ship so passage through the sherwood nebula is possible, could it protect a ship from its magical properties

regardless i look forward to seeing more of them and hearing more of the lord of the ring puns, i suddenly feel inspired to draw ^^

The House of Benefactors in their constant campaign to limit Nomoko's power have not allowed her the resources to build strategic DFG's. She is only allowed to manufacture the small prototype generators she made as a proof-of-concept.

This limitation was an attempt by the HoB to frustrate Nomoko, but using her new found power of imagination, she made lemondae out of lemons and placed the small proof-of-concept generators inside NITE Bears, hence creating her private army. Though her innovation allowed her to get around that one rule, she is still unable to make DFG's large enough to enshroud an assault ship. But she still has plans...

"When life gives you lemons you squeeze them, hard. Make invisible ink. Make an acid poison. Fling it in their eyes." - Dr. Impossible, Soon I Will Be Invincible

That... actually sounds kind of like what Nomoko is doing.

It does sound like at some point the House of Benefactors are going to consider Nomoko a rather prickly issue that they must deal with.  If luck is to be with them, they had best deal with her before she runs into any Shelleys amongst the Belle Dragons!

He's one of the first-person narrators in a book called Soon I Will Be Invincible.  There aren't a lot of superhero novels out there, this is one of them and probably a better and less downbeat read than After The Golden Age.  Plus, the title says it all!

Buck Rogers, or more specifically, Wilma Deering are certainly in the Recruitment Drive's sights, as are Femshep and her lot, but those are more up the alley of the conventional Fremp space forces.

Somebody needs to scoop up all those beautiful elven maidens.

Probably. She wouldn't be hampered in the least by a dearth of magic, and she has advanced weapons.

Conventional NITE Bears, sneaking into her bed chamber at night would probably have more success, but don't tell the Dragonslavers that. They'd never live it down.

Oh good heavens, where to begin....

Lineage is a grindfest MMO made by NCsoft, The Game Killers(tm), yet it and Lineage II have managed to survive for a very very long time despite slightly outdated graphics.  The best way to describe the dark elves of Lineage is that the entire race is made up of bondage and leather fetishists.  ... Mind you, I find nothing at all wrong with this, and actually make it a positive in the dark elves' favor. *shifty eyes*

I thought about that, but since I started writing stories in which bears like Honey had more and more to say, it just became too much of a hassle to continue on transposing "r's" and "w's"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Firest In reply to we-r-nomad [2013-09-17 05:21:12 +0000 UTC]

As I remember, the story was that the "w" thing was originally programmed in by the Robolords to appeal to children and annoy Maidens.  You could easily say that eventually even the Robolords got annoyed with it and ordered the Bears to knock it off.

You could even have some Bears continue to do it as a form of protest against perceived slights by the Robolords.

You'd think if they could make tiny robot teddy bears that still have enough general skill and power to enslave dragons they wouldn't have much trouble making something to take down a pink haired girl with a Batman-esque vendetta against sentient machines. I'm sorry if that sounds snobby I've been watching a British guy review video games for the past hour. It's not him that's snobby it's his accent that makes him sound so.

Interesting point. To that I can only say that due to the Dragonslavers unique mission profile, they haven't had occassion to face Prin in combat. Although, there may come a time when the other members of the House of Benefactors ask their marginalized former dictator for a desperate favor.

I should probably also mention that while a DFG can nullify a dragon's native magic abilities, it has no effect whatsover upon Prin's all-consuming hate.

athroughzdude In reply to we-r-nomad [2013-09-16 01:36:02 +0000 UTC]

True all consuming hat eis very hard to quell without completely eliminating the source. But that's not gonna happen in Prin's or Batman's cases. Can't bring back parents that easily or reverse psychological damage and how much time those poor girls lost to being enslaved.
