Description During her ongoing quest to acquire magical entities for both maidification, as well as the conversion of their unique μ Wave Energies to quantum fuel for her personal space battleship, Leviathan, Nomoko had found one particular species of being to uniquely useful for both purposes.

Dragons, in particular, Belle Dragons--the female of the species--are widely renowned for both their raw magical power, as well as the ethereal, otherworldly beauty the acquire, when assuming human form. It was obvious that these creatures would make ideal Conversion Maids. However, it was equally obvious that the very power which inspired Nomoko's fixation, also made them quite difficult--even dangerous to ,"recruit".

To address this challenge, Nomoko took 100 of her μ-Wave negating Knight Bears, and optimized them specifically for the task of apprehending Belle Dragons. Increasing their agility, strength, and Dispiriting Field output above even the impressive stats of standard KB's, uprating their armor and fur to withstand temperatures in excess of 1,668°C, and providing them with special swords, capable of focusing and directing their DFG effect, the wily gynoid created an elite class of Knight Bear to be eventually known as the Dragonslavers1.

With armor, styled to resemble ancient dragon "slayer" knights, the Dragonslavers exert a massive psychological impact upon their victims, and are proving a growing scourge of the magical community at large. So effective are their exploits, that Nomoko has taken on the elite bears as her personal bodyguard.

Pictured above is Sir Bearomir2, top ace Dragonslaver, and the captain of Nomoko's personal guard. His sword, which has been the end of as many Bull Dragons as it has swatted the ends of maidified Belle Dragons, is known far and wide as Heaven's Claw.

1.) No, that's not a typo.

2.) FYI, Bearomir has a 292 second younger production twin, who wears red armor, and answers to the name Furromir. There are 98 other Dragonslavers. Expect MANY bear-related Lord of the Rings puns in the future.

Our hero. *eyerolls* If I wasn't so completely enthralled by the awesome design and his downright devious place in your universe, I'd write him off. But we both know that some very dangerous things come in small packages...

I definitely have empathy for the dragons that help power Leviathan. Something about a being of great power reduced to something of great use - it's the quintessential role reversal. An evil overlord gets caught by the police, or a voluptuous black queen gets abducted and used as a PVC-enclosed piece of eye candy... or worse, a battery.

I certainly hope you're referring to the kind with two bright LEDs to display their power charge...

As opposed to the most thoroughly restrained sort that find themselves in high-pressure outfits, snugly contained and bound within the massive bowels of a technological dystopia, occasionally shocked, drained, stimulated, teased, and most thoroughly groped in order to test charge and energy.

Definitely hope it's the first. > : )

The scabbard actually has a hinge running along its bottom, and opens lengthwise to accommodate access--I really wanted ridiculously long swords.

Glad you like the armor.

Yay, someone finally noticed.

Yea I wanted ridiculously large swords for the Dragonslavers, so I figured they would need some countermeasure to prevent them from scuffing the floor all the time.

Achast In reply to we-r-nomad [2013-09-17 02:19:31 +0000 UTC]

Though, I suppose scuffing the floors would simply give the maids something else to do, bending over to give the floors a good scrubbing...

we-r-nomad In reply to Achast [2013-09-17 03:35:32 +0000 UTC]

Good point!

But then I suppose even the wheels could scuff the floors, particularly if the knights had just returned from a busy day of hunting and tracking.

Now I'm imagining the Knight Bears coming back from another successful Dragon Hunt to some Camelot-esque great hall, where they celebrate their victory with a rousing feast. Said dragon is probably kept secured in a prominent spot in the hall as a trophy, while the other maids serve their furry masters with flagons of foaming ale (or root beer) with which they toast each other, clanging the flagons together, spilling the drink and generally making a mess of things, which the maids can only watch glumly, knowing they'll have to clean up afterwords. In fact, making a huge mess is probably half the point in the first place...

I was more or less inspired by a hilarious old anime, called Dragon Half, in which an Imperial Red Dragon assumed human form, fell in love with, and eventually married the knight sent to slay her.

Actually, the story of Dragon Half focuses on the couple's half dragon daughter, but I was still impressed with the idea of dragons turning into maidens instead of just eating them.

It is all well and fine to be factual about how a dragon would fight against one of these Dragonslavers.  But it really comes down to fiction.  And which universe the writer/s has these powerful creatures in .

Hope you don't mind if I comment on Ishy-222's comment .

I don't have a problem with well reasoned suggestions regarding dragon combat tactics. As I recall, I was treated to a excellent display of that very thing during a recent role play exchange.

You are right, that it all comes down to fiction. When it comes to fantasy beast and phenomena , the only restriction is that an individual author be consistent with the rules they establish within their own stories, and that said author writes a compelling and entertaining tale.

Regarding commenting on someone else's post? Sure, knock yourself out.

I've never had a problem with one person commenting on another's comment. Viewers of stories sharing thoughts with each other adds a fun social aspect to the proceedings, and  enriches the reading experience. Its when posts get combative that things get problematic, but that's a blessedly rare problem.

ForestWolfDragon In reply to we-r-nomad [2013-09-16 20:41:16 +0000 UTC]

, I am glad to you enjoy the role playing as much as I do.  You might take away the natural abilities of the dragon/ess, but if they are military trained, then they have other means to fight

The limitations set by the writer can be a blessing or a curse.  As long as they are reasonable and not completely outlandish, then all the more to have fun exploring that said universe!

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure before I had posted on Ishy-222's comment.  I didn't know how you felt about a fellow RPer commenting in certain posts lol.

Thanks.

Yea, I'd imagine that the first few dragons fell to the Slavers because they underestimated them due to their overpowering cuteness.  Since they have a secondary priority to "recruit" other magical entities, the doubtless would have taken you in if the opportunity ever presented itself.

I'm sure returning Nomoko's original "assailant" would earn an enterprising young Dragonslaver a steep promotion. Even if you were unable to change her back. (Of course now that she can biologically appreciate maidifiables, the question presents itself as to whether or not she would ever want to change back.)

Hopefully there are enough extra LOTR names that there is no bear named Smeagol or Gollum.  On the other hand, given his penchant for speaking of himself in the third person, after a successful air-drop into dragon-infested territory, he could report back "The Smeagol has landed."

Thanks for the corrections. I try to proofread and make sure that the entire passage isn't in italicized text and the like, but another set of eyes is always welcome.

Regarding names, keep in mind that the villians are also in play.  There could be Bearon and Bearuman. And there are easy, minor character ones like Bearegond, and  Beargil.

Firest [2013-09-16 02:27:31 +0000 UTC]

There's a underlying problem with your scenario.  If you suppress the magic of a dragon transformed into a humanoid female, she (or he) will just return to their natural form, that of a dragon.  So either Nomoko doesn't care that they're in dragon form (because she's just using them as magical batteries or some such thing) or she has something like an Orb of Dragonkind that she can use to force her captured dragons into humanoid form.

But such a device would be just as subject to the Dispiriting Field as any other magical item, so I'm not sure how you're going to work around this.

Despite that, it's a great pic, though the cape is a bit much.

Does Nomoko still deploy them with more "normal" capture bots, as in this pic  we-r-nomad.deviantart.com/art/…  or has she given them their own "mounts"?

A Knightbear on a speeder-bike with a lance would be kind of badass.  www.deviantart.com/art/Dieselp…
