i few lighting issues in the face. the face seems to pop out of the piece when it should be cradled back inside the helmet. i think it's because the right side of the helmet is really dark... give a little more light to that and more detail and it should "fix" this. then again i'm no pro, just offering a suggestion.

He was made really fast (for me) 'bout 10 hours at 4 times the size here, shrunk down then detailed again. The light and alot of the metal work comes from blend modes of the the brush tool, overlay, soft light, dodge etc.

There is so much detail in this. It's really increadible. I like the atmosphere too. It adds for a unique and interesting view. The textures on it are well done, as with the lighting. I think the contrasting white in the background and on the metal suite gives it that much needed and deserved "pop" to the piece.

VERY Giger-seque
I LOVE this piece!!! It kinda gives off the impression of an pre or post-apocalyptic age (if that's the right term). By far my favorite piece I've seen in in a long time. Keep up the good work!

Your rendering of metals is just amazing. It looks very natural - a very worn in look without retreating to the extremes of grunge like many do. And love the lights just below the chin.
I really like the texturing of the guy in the second frame - you can see the veinwork so well. I must admit, his expression... well, I can only say it reminds me of constipation...
But maybe that's why the veins are standing out in his face and he's felt the need to open the helmet visor!
