Entry for the contest Contest 55 - Fan Fave Princess ChallengeIt's supposed to depict Ariel doing what she does best: exploring the old shipwrecks in order to find more treasures for her collection. She's accompanied by Flounder in this expedition. She's gotten so excited that she forgot a fork tangled in her hair. Can you spot it?

Ooh, really nice job on the shipwreck -- it looks like you used ink or watercolors. The sail has such a ghostly feel to it. Ariel's tail is really nice as well, love the individual scales and the subtle shading in darker green. Nice scene overall.

I agree with the former speaker, the contrast between the dark background and the bright and colourful characters looks great

The background looks great, conveys a dark and gloomy atmosphere, and then Ariel (and Flounder too) contrasts it by being so bright and vibrant with colour. It definitely looks this shipwreck is somewhere sensible mermaids would avoid, but adventurous Ariel is up for the fun of exploring, great job. At first I thought this was drawn by another artist on here who I admire very much so it's a big thing that I mistook your art for hers.

Wow, really nice work on this one! I also love that you used traditional media for this piece, it really stands out that way. Excellent work with the details as well, the scales in particular on Ariel's tail are fantastic. I love the way you made the ship look like it's receding off into the background by making it a more solid block with less detailing; very effective. Ariel's pose and smile is adorable, and it's great that you've included Flounder too. Awesome work!

I like that you used traditional materials instead of digital, the piece seems to have more "soul" this way and also for me, as my own personal opinion, shows the artist worked more.
