The Higher Elements--Also known as The Grandfather Elements or The Ancestors of Harmony. These elements were what the Elements of Harmony had split off of, existing way before Celestia and Luna came into power. They were created by the Element of Creation (pictured in/on the crown).
From left to right:
From Virtue and Truth, comes Honesty
The Element of Virtue and Truth. The Most Honest of Hearts can embody it.
Spirit of Truth/Virtue: North Star
Weakness: Absolute Deceit
From Compassion and Love, comes Kindness
The Element of Compassion and Love. The Most Kindest and loving of Hearts can Embody it.
Spirit of Compassion/Love: Lady Crystalline
Weakness: Complete Cruelty/Hatred
From Joy, comes Laughter
The Element of Joy. A Very Free-Spirited and Fun-Loving Heart can embody it.
Spirit of Joy: Jubilee Stardust
Weakness: Despair
From Charity and Selflessness, comes Generosity
The Element of Charity and Selflessness. A Heart truly willing to sacrifice their pleasure for their companions and friends can embody it.
Spirit of Charity/Selflessness: (I.) Inner Spark
Weakness: Greed, Selfishness
From Determination and Devotion, comes Loyalty
The element of Devotion. A Heart that will lead and choose decisions for the sake of Family and Friendship can embody it
Spirit of Devotion: (S.) Guiding Wings
Weakness: Betrayal, Self-Centering
Magic is only made When one's belief is Strong
The Element of Will and Belief. No one Can unleash its full power unless their belief in their power and magic is strong and true.
Spirit of Will/Belief: (A.) Looking Glass
Weakness: Corruption, Curses, Self-Hatred, Spite
From the very stars, comes the Creation
The element of creation. nopony, absolutely NOPONY, can wield this element. it is impossible--only the one who created it can wield it. the Element of Creation was destroyed many centuries ago.

Weakness: Destruction

you're thinking Silver in terms of rank and placing. this is silver in terms of age. when they were first created, they were gold. after the elements of harmony (their descendants) were created, they turned silver.

Ruler of the Cosmos would have made the element of Creation; Whom Might this be? Name is unknown, all that is known about this alicorn is that it had the power of Life, and Creation and was the one who defeated the first "Discord" only to see that another Alicorn was formed into Discord by this Element of Destruction. that's just my guess >.>

this has a similar basis to my own element of balance consepts where the original creator made balance, and from balance created harmony and from harmony came the seeds and from those seeds came the elements of harmony. And while balance can be weilded by other ponies, this pony has to have a connection of some kind to the original creator, not to mention it needs to be rebuilt.

Oh, thanks! I tried making most of the colors similar to the "Descendant" colors of the elements of Harmony, but still added different colors that match the spirit of the "holder".

My friend did something like this. Though the element of creation he called Balance and it was a Yin-yang. it had also been destroyed years ago but had been actually split into 2 parts. Really cool though webs :3
