she has a lot of phalaenopsis, and phal schilleriana is her favorite... wow even her phal looks like blooming bigger than my neighbour's phal

Oh, when you don't even know how to add a frame, my curves advice in the other picture won't do you much good. I could try it for you, or tell you how to do it. Do you use any graphic program?
I think the lilac background compliments the softness of the lilac orchids very well. It looks so perfect, at first I didn't even realize if was a background, thought there were more petals. A white background might look nice, too, but I really think lilac is the best.
I also like the tone-in-tone for the orange gerbera. On the other hand, I could imagine a background in a complementary color could make the bloom shine more brightly.

Your curves advice: no I don't understand completely what you ment. But it would be great if you would try it for me, as you suggested!!! And maybe you could write down for me what you did, so I can try it with other pictures too!!! I don't use any graphic program, but we've got Photoshop 2 on our computer.
I took pictures of these orchids with a purple background too.
I'm so glad you like these photo's! I loved taking those pictures! The orange gerbera was taken with a black background too. I promissed other dA friends to add some more pictures of this series. I will do that today. Hope you'll like them too.
