In 2014, my best friend, my dad, and I decided to plan and take a trip down the California coast on Highway 1 to see the sights on a mini-road trip. We started our trip in Monterey and our first stop was the 17-Mile Drive where among the beautiful coast scenery were a variety of native animals. And for the first time I was treated to the sight of a young buck grazing at Pebble Beach! We almost missed him and needed to pull over to the shoulder so I could take a few pictures. We see deer quite frequently whenever we go up into the foothills but I have never seen deer (let alone a buck!) on the coast, so this sighting was something special.
