The first time I tried to lay down the context for my human!AU, all characters were to be attending High School, and I could have some fun with them just being young and reckless. So I could have something as stupid as “prank queen competition” where Garnet, Amethyst, and Lapis Lazuli would cause lots of trouble out of competitiveness (yes, ofc Pearl and Peridot were easy prey). But as I developed the plot, the story turned out much more adult-oriented (oh the DRAMA) and having high school students as protagonists for such felt weird, and a bit out of place. I can still use flashbacks to tell those things anyway.Related content

This is Garnet during Junior High. Her father defected from North Korea and fled to Germany where he met her mother. They got married in London and raised their daughter, training her for combat. She is astute in hapkido and judo, and volunteers at the temple as a shrine maiden.

I think expression is one of the best parts in this piece, it's so sassy. I believe Garnet would use that look, or at the very least Ruby would use it. And did I mention Estelle is a little bit sassy too?

She's a younger Garnet, so traits like competitiveness and recklessness would be more apparent... Like she didn't need to control herself so much and just enjoy the moment and its craziness.
In this AU Garnet got really crazy in high school wich contrast with the more sober persona she has grown up to be
