That has got to be the best AW drawing I've seen thus far.
Looks to me like they're just outside a black hole controlled city.
Although the black hole guns are supposed to look kinda like an FN P90 or F2000 gun. I notice all of the black hole soldiers have gone melee in this one!

On the one hand, Sasha has a sword, and she looks badass. On the other hand, she brought this sword to a gunfight. I believe anyone who has seen Raiders of the Lost Ark knows what happens at this point.

This is awesome work. Sure, it's a bit flashy, but still is quite brutal, something the Advance Wars series has always avoided. So when one DOES see it, it's very striking. Seeing the actual corpses and the tracer fire filling the air, really sets the scene.

Man, this is why the world needs more Advance Wars art.
Favorite detail: The Blue Moon soldier behind Sasha firing his rifle. It's exactly the pose of soldiers firing in the game, brought to full-size.
Second favorite detail: The snarling Blue Mooner wrestling down a Black Holie with his rifle.
Third: Sasha weilding a cossack's saber, suit flapping around her. Good at conveying action there!
Least favorite: The Black Hole infantry faces. Remember, they're aliens beneath those glass domes, the same as Sturm beneath his gas mask (as seen in the first game).
Of course, his subordinate COs are humans. Presumably, when he first came to Wars World, his people didn't know anything about WW weapons or fighting, so he recruited COs among mercenaries.
Which means folk like Hawke are traitors to their whole planet. Awesome!

It disturbs me a little that the soldiers in the foreground seem to be smaller than Sasha who is further away.

Heh. I feel like Sasha would have something closer to a saber... but maybe that sword was a gift from Yellow Comet. The picture has a lot of neat action going on. My favorite detail would be the Black Hole soldier who has been reduced to using his rifle as a club (and the poor Blue Moon solider on the receiving end).
Hawke looks kind of rough in the foreground, but he doesn't have a wide range of emotions in the first place. All he can pull is a cold stare (or blink). But it's a very cool picture. Certainly one of the more detailed Advance Wars pictures I've seen.
