Description Lucas is my shiny Alolan Sandslash I randomly encountered while trying to fill my Pokedex to get a shiny charm way earlier in the game. I named him after Lucas from Mother 3. :}
For some reason in Moon I found a lot more shinies before I even had my shiny charm and they were all random encounters.

From what I heard, shiny Pokémon in Sun and Moon are easier to come by. I think it's because they changed the odds. Like 1 in 4,000 rather than 1 in 8,000 or something like that. Anyway, he's a very cute Alolan Sandslah (Iceslash), and I would definitely give him a pet... Well if his spikes weren't so sharp and hazardous that is. lmao

Also for context, id find random encounters months apart from each other and for one (an Eevee which... Is a pretty damn good Vaporeon now, which is unfortunate because I'm not into competitive battling like say, my boyfriend is) I was using masuda method but I wasn't really trying to look for a shiny. My goal was to just get all the Eeveelutions for my Dex and Bam, the fifth egg is a shiny.

That happened to me randomly. I was hatching eggs for competitive mons at one point, and boom. Shiny Dratini and Shiny Eevee. This was back in the X/Y and ORAS days though.

Yeah my friend John tends to hatch random shinies quite a lot when breeding for competitive Pokes

It's 1/4096, just like in x/y. There's a Team Skull grunt that says finding a shiny pokemon is "about 1/4000" when you talk to him. So I don't know, maybe I was just lucky without the shiny charm and fairly unlucky once I got it.

I say get rid of the shiny charm (If you didn't save already that is) and let that shiny luck return. That or suffer through hours of horde battles... Yeah no, ditch the shiny charm if you can, because horde battles are a pain in ass. At least when I had the games they were.

No too late. I already evolved the last few Pokémon I needed for my dex and got it. My shiny type null took forever to SR for and evolve. This also makes me salty that shiny silvallys will be given out as events. And I've already suffered plenty of horde battles, but they aren't that bad. I mean since you last knew me I've become quite he shiny hunter. Even got my boyfriend Oliver into it, and he found so many murkrows through hordes after that.
In general, I typically just dexnav, and I found Olie a perfect bold prankster klefki for him to use in his battling... That was of course after I found a klefki that was the complete opposite of what we wanted.
(Also hordes arent in Moon so I can't shiny hunt that way in the game.and tbh for me, so battles are more annoying. Gives me PTSD to earthbound battles when enemies kept calling for help over and over.)

Yeesh, I've been out of the Pokémon game for a while. Like, I haven't played the game in months, and I probably won't play the official game again until I get a Switch, because reasons. Anyway, it's pretty cool you've become a shiny hunter. Catch them shinies boi, catch them all and then send them into battle to fight to the death- er faint, yes... (I totally don't kill my Pokémon)

Yes. It all started with my first shiny, my Trevenant Elly.
Speaking of dying shinies, Fab is my Type: Null (Silvally now, obviously) and whenever I'd send him into battle he'd end up fainting, thus why it took me awhile to evolve him. I have yet to fail a shiny as well, however Oliver isn't so lucky... He and I both watched as a shiny Geodude he found in a horde was killed by magnitude.

Ripperoni. I think the worst shiny luck I every had was not having Pokéballs, and the time I ran out of Pokéballs. I have the worst luck catching mons, so I usually get stuck spending an abnormal amount of time trying to catch a Caterpie.
