Yet another nice!familial!loving!accepting!Thranduil in retaliation for the consistent smudges on his fanon character

Whenever he can free himself from the court and its responsibilities, he grabs his oldest son and they escape together into the trees, reading long into the night and just generally having a good time. Father-son bonding

Is it too dark?

On another note, I watched both Born of Hope and The Hunt for Gollum this afternoon. They're fantastic! Aragorn's family has never really interested me, but the movies unwound in such a way that they didn't delve too deeply while still giving you a basic background. I thought TH4G would be longer though...and really? the Mirkwood elf only has a minute of screentime.
Go watch them if you haven't already - I'm really surprised I only found them now, actually...they're incredibly well done for having no official funding. BoH is at www.bornofhope.com and TH4G is at wwwthehuntforgollum.com.

Here's the lineart if anyone wants to try their hand at it...just make sure to credit me (and note me, I'd like to see it!)

this is sweet and I've seen those fan-made movies on the Internet when they were first released, they're both really awesome pieces of movie making. I can't decide which one I like best though because The Hunt for Gollum has a really cute elven warrior in it as well as the halls of Mirkwood whilst Born of Hope has Elrond's twin sons who are really seen in the movies and a adorable baby Aragorn.

I think I liked Born of Hope better - its plot holds up well and yeah, Elrohir and Elladan are done pretty well XD The Hunt for Gollum was good but slightly lacking, characterization- and plot-wise.

Thanks!

You're welcome, I'll have to watch them both again but this time back to to back and then compare them.

Unlike the 3 hours (4-5 for the extended edition) for each lord of the rings movie.

Yup, me and my dad did a marathon of the all of original movie editions and we finished at like 9 o'clock at night when we started at around 10 in the morning.
