Slide Mountain, so named because of its tendency for landslides and avalanches (which you might be able to tell from looking at its face). Taken the day after a fresh snowfall, four shots stitched together.Related content

could i please maybe use this as a reference for a pic im drawing....a wolf walking through snow with a mountain behind it and this is perfect

Wow. Where is this? It's beautiful. Great detail and composition. I can't see the seams, so you're a better stitcher than I am.

It's in Nevada, part of the rim that makes up Washoe Valley between Reno and Carson City.
You're going to Alaska? I'm incredibly jealous. It's been on my list of places to go to for years now....can't wait to see what you bring back in terms of photos

Such a beautiful scene.... the contrast between the white snow, green trees and blue sky is very lovely. How I wish I could've seen this lovely spectacle for myself....
Just one thing though -- perhaps it would look a little better if you tweaked the saturation up a tad? The colours look a bit dull now

Very crisp, very clean, very cold and beautiful. I love the
way the foreground mounds of snow echo the cloud shapes
in the sky !! Completely balanced composition.

I absolutely adore this. I can really tell these days which photos are yours. You have this certain way, I am not sure how to explain. The photos look so clean and elegant. I love the colours that came out here and how the mountain is dead center in the picture. Those clouds/fog at the top are beautiful.

Beautfiful beautiful beautiful shot. Excellent job catching the color of the sky, I know that can be quite difficult while keeping the rest of the shot in good color as well. Also good job on not letting the glare of the snow over-expose the shot.

Amazing shot...really do not know how you take pictures when it is co cold. I tried that and it is possibly one of the hardest things I have ever done.

Cold I don't mind so much. I just bundle up, put a hat on and my gloves with the fingerstips cut off so I can work the camera. Now cold and windy, on the other hand, can be downright hellish

oooo yeah, the vastness of that mountain is excellent! I like the sharpness of the photo, although it could be sharper. Must have been cold! The trees scattered around the landscape are great. Did you use a tripod for this? The foreground is excellent. Nice border too. Good photo, welder style!

Yes, I did use a tripod....though it was quite a pain trying to get it solidly planted in a couple feet of snow
