Me too, but that's why I love oil paint - as long as you're a bit careful you can mix on the canvas. It takes so long to dry that you can always change things a bit. Give it a try - truly it's much easier than people think!

Hm...how much does oil paint typically go for? Do you know?

I'm in France, so our prices wouldn't be much help to you. I found a website with the prices in dollars [link] It's best to buy a mixed set to begin with because otherwise it's difficult to decide what colours you want - then the only thing you need extra of is white. In my painting group we use paper plates for palettes and white spirit for thinning - both of those are usually cheap. Anyway have a look at the website I found and if you search there are probably lots of others.

Oh yes, white...i think that's color i use a lot when trying to vary colors out. I might try watercolors as well when i get a chance. Thanks so much for the link~ You're awesome!

I'm not much good at water colours either - shame we can't practice together! There are some quite nice pencils that you use as if they are just coloured pencils and then go over it with a wet paintbrush - they seem quite easy to use. Maybe you could ask Santa to bring all the stuff you need!

I know right!!
I think the pencils are called "watercolor pencils" (Lol typical name). I usually used color pencils and what not. Honestly, i'm not that great at coloring stuff at all XD

I've had another look at your gallery and there's one in particular that shows lots of potential - It a girl in a swimsuit. It just depends on the style you're going for - if you want to do things that are a bit more realistic you have to start thinking about light and shade - something that isn't all that important with the more cartoon style drawing (I'm too old to know all the different manga anime stuff). Find a photo you really like and try to copy it but pay particular attention to light and shade on the photo. It's more about learning to look carefully for the colours - you can already draw. Good luck!

Light and shade is SOOOO difficult for me. Maybe because of the fact that i have a problem with shapes. Maybe i should stop coloring things for a while ><

Light and shade is difficult for everyone - I guess you just have to practice

You may well be right. I'm always grateful when someone points out something like that because I don't have a clue really. I just see a nice picture and wonder whether I'm capable of painting it!

Very vibrant, nice composition, although i think the grassy field in the top right draws away too much attention.
