I always love to see art like this.Β  In a lot of respects it's simple, but the design of the character and her costume as well as the horse's tack make me picture the culture they come from.Β  Evidently this is not a princess who sits on her hands while the men do the fighting...

Beautiful drawing, I especially like the way you detailed the horse and the weapons! Your work is really impressive, thanks for sharing

Is that Thirrin? Meaning, Thirrin Freer Strong-in-the-Arm Lindenshielf, Queen of the Icemark, Wildcat of the North??? If so (and even if not) LOVE. If you haven't read Cry of the Icemark, DOIT!

This reminds me very much of the girl on the cover of a historical fiction book I read once, The Edge on the Sword by Rebecca Tingle. It's about an Anglo-Saxon princess and her dilemmas and whatnot. It's very good, as is this art. I love it.

Stunning work I love the colors, the soft green in contrast with buckskin horse and the red hair of the princess really draw the viewer's eyes. I really like how you captured the way a rider's leg falls when there is no stirrup.

i love the angle of this. the way she is sitting makes me wonder what she is staring at. could it be enemy troops? a departing loved one? or maybe she is a scout for her people. or just a dreamer sitting and thinking. one could go many different ways with this

Your style is interesting, and with the direction of her view, it makes me wonder what she sees.
