Description Tiamat was the Babylonian deity of creative chaos, the mother of all that exists and personification of the ocean.
Strangely enough, Tiamat was portrayed with the head and forelegs of a lion, the hind legs and wings of an eagle and the tail of a serpent. She was also white.
Tiamat had many children, the first gods, and her youngest child, Ea, slew her consort, Apsu, the deity of fresh water, enraged, she attacked Ea, he cleaved her body in half and threw her into the sea, but being a goddess she didn't die, but she leaves her children alone and mourns Apsu.
This event has resulted in a great fear of trusting, or Pistanthrophobia.
