Just some quick mess-around drawings of two of my favorite dudes from Skylanders. I want to draw a couple more sometime, as I have many favorites!For real though, I pity the Spyro fans who are too proud to try Skylanders.

My cousin loves Skylanders and i didn't know that he know everything about Spyro when he has The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragons for DS.

I'm a Classic Spyro fan and I tried Skylanders. I stopped playing after Giants but I enjoyed the game as it's own thing, like a spinoff. To be honest, Crash and Sonic fans have it worse than Spyro fans.Β

THANK YOU. Coming from someone who grew up with the original games and have a lot of love for the original three games, I hate seeing people saying that the Skylanders games are "ruining" Spyro. I don't even own the games but I can instantly recall several of the Skylanders like Sunburn, Camo, Drobot, and Pop Fizz off the top of my head because they have such fun, likeable designs. Having so many fun characters and Spyro being relevant and popular again should be a good thing, right?
But I digress...
I love that you both kept to the overall designs of these characters and the overall feel of the game setting they're in while adding a certain spin that makes it feel like your style. There's just so much energy and movement in even these quick drawings. I love Dino-Rang in particular and his blocky little crocodile body and his fierce little expression. Both of these drawings are just so charming.

I was the same at first, then I picked up the original Skylanders game and then have bought every game in the series after. I was hooked. I love collecting things, especially models. I'd recommend Skylanders to anyone who's got a bit of cash that they don't need.

Wow I love the way you drew both of these guys, especially Spyro. You stuck to the Skylanders design but somehow made him look even cooler. As far as Dino-Rang goes, I've always liked him, I unfortunately don't own a figure of him... And you drew in a very dramatic pose that fits him well!

You don't have to buy all the toys. I've only ever gotten the ones I really like. I actually enjoy that aspect, but then again I enjoy collecting toys to begin with.

I'll always prefer Classic for obvious reasons and I'd rather have a ''real'' Spyro game again (let's face it, Spyro is more of secondary character in Skylanders than anything else) but, yeah, Skylanders is quite fun too and it has great characters. What bother me the most about it is how easy it is. I know it's for young kids but still... Good thing you'll able to jump in Swap Force.

Hm. I thought the portal and game were separate, and you can have multiple save files one one character piece? So they're like fancy looking memory cards?

Basically yeah. They have ownership that is tied to one save game (The ownership doesn't really mean much other than being able to tell whose toy is who's, as far as I can tell), but you can play/level up on anyone else's save file and all the progress saves into the one figure!
There are versions of Giants that come without a portal for those who already own one from the previous game, but otherwise yeah they bundle everything into a neat starter kit.

Yup! That's what version I have. It works on everything, there's even 3DS versions! The only thing it doesn't have a port to is the PC.

You could probably skip right to Giants - I found Giants WAY more put together and polished compared to the first. But if you do manage toΒ find the first, then definitely play both!
