Description Yet another still life. Believe me, it was more painful for me to draw them than for you to look at them.
Conte crayon on some board papery stuff. I forget what its called.

Despite what you say, I think it's quite beautiful. The theme is very Spainish/Portugese

You shouldn't worry, you've been showing some good stuff; I think it should score you something. When's the application going through?

Is conte crayon like oil pastel? Still lives (and oil pastels, if that's what your talking about) take a while to get used to, but what you are doing is excellent practice. I like how you paid attention to the detail like the strings, and you made them straight and such. The guitar looks a little off though, like one side is higher than the other. When I sketch things like these out, I like to use my pencil as a vertical line to kind of measure where one thing is as compared to another. I like the composition, expect how the tea pot lines up with the side of the guitar basically perfectly. Little things like that kind of take away from the aesthetics of the picture, as it looks set up and less natural, ya know? I really like the monochromatic tones in the picture though. The black/white/brown tones really work well and make the picture feel a little warmer. All the portfolio people I saw loved my monochromatic piece, so I'd totally include this. Nice work!

Still life is hard to draw. :S You make it look good. Or a least, interesting.

Very nice job. I don't see how you wouldn't be accepted into whatever school you're trying for.
And I feel you about the boredom thing. Still life pictures are a pain. But it's better to get used to it, 'cause this is the kind of stuff they have you doing in college, at least your freshman year.

Good luck to you.

Very impressive work drawing and coloring all the items here, especially the guitar, detailing the frets and strings, and drawing in the design on the teapot. You have far more patience than me, I always BS details like that. The coloring you've done on the guitar with the use of different tones looks really lovely, particularly along the edge. Nice work with the highlights on the shapes of the frog figure too :]

Haha, no I'm just applying for General Art Studies right now. I'll have a better chance at an illustrator/designy/whatever program later on if I've got the fundamentals, yaknow.

Going into general arts first is smart actually, helps you develop ideas and try out new mediums and what-not . I just always pictured you going to sheridan haha... i have a friend in animation there and another in illustration. Its a good skool ^_^. I cant afford to go but whatever haha...

its pretty good, but there are some proportion issues, like in the bottle and guitar. The shadeing is beautiful though

Keep in mind depth and where the placement of each item was.

Not that you'd know as a viewer, but I guess that means my lighting is off.

yeah, i know all that stuff is involved, but it looks a tad off skew. like the bottle is wider on one side than the other.
