Description 'Nother still life from Drawing 110. I drew my headphones 40 times in a day, and then the homework was to draw them with another object. I picked my T-Rex puppet.

We were supposed to burn the image afterwards, but I was late. ;<

Anyway, Conte crayon+white out on mayfair.

i like the color choices, too.

i don't understand how you could just burn art. it would just enrage me if i was asked to burn my art >8| i alqays tell myself i can do better, but i like keeping my art as a reminder of the work i put into it. just burning it like that is...is........
just wrong. 8|

...
awsome job tho!!

the point of burning it is to make you more detached to your work isnt it?

Very nicely done, and nice choice using the puppet and the headphones. I say it is too nice to burn, and besides, art is not made to be burned.

Oh hey, I have those exact same headphones Although, mine has battle scars from the years. *including an assault from a 70 lb. cargo box attacking from above*

Either way, awesome still life! I like the shine spots on the dinosaur. *hums Disco Inferno*

*during customs where you have to send EVERYTHING thru an x ray, while I was busy trying to catch another cargo box, one of the other boxes slid down the rollers and right onto my hapless headphones. They still work fine, tho you can see that the right side had to be taped n bandaged up.

Me poor headphones, they've been with me to at least 4 states and another country.

I have that same puppet! Some Jurassic Park movie, I think. I love dinoaurs, so this was instantly pleasing. He looks like he's chilling out in those headphones instead of a blank, fierce stare most dinosaur toys have.

That is crazy that you had to burn your work! Screw that! I know I could do it again, but I just wouldn't WANNA. It would be redundant and a waste of my time and effort. Them teachers can be soooooo crazy. So I take it that you DIDN'T burn it?

I love T-Rex's, and the combination of it and the headphones and it's apparent expression of satisfaction just makes this good fun.

That's a pretty damn awesome still life.

And... Burn it? That's interesting. o_o;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

weremagnus In reply to Zoaerven [2007-01-13 02:20:40 +0000 UTC]

it was an exersize in testing whether you can let go of your work when its done. lol

if you couldn't, then it was supposedly that you couldn't expect yourself to do it again if you were too attatched to it to burn it.

Glad you understood the point!
I read it and was like, "Smart teacher!" And then was reading all the 'NOOO F BURNING IT' posts and thinking.. Missing the point.

Erm.
Nicely done though, hehe.

Hum. That's really neat. o_o I've never had to do that in any of my art classes so far.

If I were ever to become an art teacher, I'd totally have my students do that.

I really like how you shaded the dinosaur and the wire wrapping around it's head and the headphones I really like for some reason.
