For those who didn't know yet, yes, I'm going to try out cosplay. I always thought cosplay looks very cool, and I need to get out of the house more often.I'm going to wear this to Tsunacon 2014 this Sunday, and wow I'm nervous about this.
The Dai Li is from Avatar; the Last Airbender. I don't own any rights of it. This is for personal improvement, and I hope for fun. I earn no money from it.

Understood, BUT... other cosplayers seems to have bought the green Dai Li costumes and they all look beautiful (Same color as yours), not the greyish green one, that is Taobao and not very accurate. That one... I want to buy, but from which shop in the US sells it? Or was it some place else like Europe?
I managed to found a local tailor who did tons of other costumes too, but I decide to go for the other one the other guys did it. I'll be happy if I can buy it from there and hopefully less expensive than my chosen tailor.

I doubt it, I didn't have any special outfit. Just a Link t-shirt and a handmade totoro necklace :C

And yes, walking around in cosplay all day is very tiring, at least my costume allows for comfy shoes.

Probably not, sadly.
There's a lot of cons, and I can't go to every con. Meaning I'll have to pick which ones I go to carefully, spreading them over the year.
Tsunacon is a given, since I live quite close to the location. Next con will probably be anime 2014 in June for me

Oh, I didn't look at the prices yet. It's indeed a little more expensive, not so sure if I'll go now.

uhm I go to EFF Haarzuilens and Arcen, Tomocon, Abunai, Alcon in England, Nishicon and maybe one day to Animagic in Germany, maybe to Dokomi in Germany, and maybe to Epicon. The cons with maybe depends on my friends XD I only go if at least one of them is going with me

I enjoyed Nishicon last year, so I might go there again this year. Tomocon and Ubunai I haven't made any final decisions on. I'm not planning on going to any cons outside of the Netherlands any time soon either.
I've heard a lot of good things about EFF, but since I have no idea what it is exactly, I have no idea whether I'd like it...

EFF is on castle grounds, there are some beautiful locations to make photo's and a lot of stands, workshops, concerts and people dressed up as almost everything. Really almost everything -> from stormtroopers to anime characters and from elves to a tardis ^^ The whole fair is outside so you have to think about what to wear XD

Wow! Are you saying that this is your first cosplay-costume? Well then, have to say that it REALLY looks good!
I have been in many many cons... and saw really.. krhm, "interesting costumes" there.. which were clearly made by new-cosplayers. ^^'
But this is just looking great! Sewing what I can see, looks really good etc. Β So there is no reason to be nervous!

I've had a lot of help though. A lot of other cosplayers gave me tips on materials and patterns. And my mother taught me how to use her sewing machine.
I'm still way nervous though, I'm far too socially awkward and shy for this. Thanks for the compliment though. ^^

I don't have any close friends who cosplay, but I joined a forum where a lot of people do. Lots of very helpful people online.
I will be going alone, sadly. But there's some people from the forum that would like to see my cosplay in person, so I won't be on my own all the time. ^^
