this is the first time i approach someone for a photograph, and i must say it was a very enjoyable experience.the old man is the cover of the Lonely Planet guide for Cuba, i spotted him in La Habana and sat nearby to start a conversation. i spent a long hour chatting with them and they kindly posed for some photos (and signed my guide!)

I got about the same photo a week sooner...his female compagnon wore glasses then.
What about his eyes? Has he been beaten up? Did he get in a fight between street bums?
Or just a side effect of the processing by photoshop...I remember him being cleaner and not so damaged in the face...

the only processing done is contrast and colour, he does look a little cleaner in the original but there's not a huge difference.
