Oh, wow! I really like the overall of this picture! The background has some lovely colors and the girl figure looks fit on them! Somehow I think the bushes look solid with that sorta lighting effects but it's not a problem after all

it's different from the other Tokidoki fanart on DA because, as far as i can tell, it's not traced/ripped off an original Tokidoki artwork, and you have obvious artistic skill.

I really like the foreground (the subject, the butterfly, clothes, hair ...etc) but there's something about the background that kinda bugs me, i think it's all those repeated shapes you used on the trees and stuff

Well, lots of people asked me that too...
The setting of the picture is actually in China, as you can see from the background and the outfit of the girl. The reason I've chosen China is because many Chinese women were discriminated and oppressed in the past. Examples, girls were deprived of education, being forced into arranged marriages, tortured by ridiculous customs, baby girls were drowned, etc. Oppression of women happened in many cultures in ancient times, but I am more familiar with Chinese culture and customs.
The garden symbolizes men's world, and this young woman has broken into a place that was once forbidden for all women.
