Hysteria was the first song I ever heard by Muse at 11. I used to think it was really hardcore.So, in Hysteria's honour, I made this.
Also, I love textures now. Like, seriously, they're amazing. Never worked with them until now, and that's a long time.

Experience
You can see if you start from the very beginning of my gallery that I've just experimented with different elements like patterns and gradients etc, getting the hang of one before I move onto the next and then combining them all. As you may have noticed, I've just delved into textures which I've tried not to use for ages.
The only tutorials I've used are for GIFs because the animation options in PS are just...

Hysteria is made really well.
LOL, yeah ps7 is just horrible.
But im still learning the different blending modes.
Everytime I go to try and do something that looks good
with textures and all the text, it looks stupid.
so I just give up.

Yeah I pretty much avoid the mask thing and a couple of other things I can't be bothered learning...
I think the key with images like Hysteria is to play around with transparency and keep it simple, especially with text. I think I used two or three textures with this and a brush, an action, some selective colour etc, and that was all it needed.
It really just takes practice and experimentation, mashing stuff together and generally just making a mess until you find something that looks good in the middle of it all when you're trying out new things
