Description This is my first contribution to the group I loved it! Thank you to Greta Tu for offering this beautiful reference: gretatu.deviantart.com/art/raw… Believe me, I tried to tackle that texture/pattern on the shawl, but it didn't work out too well, hehe. I forgot the freckles on her cheek... Merp!

Thanks Haha, yes, many people have drawn this. There's a group here where everyone drew this same reference, but it may also just be a popular photo on dA in general.

Aww, that shawl would be a pain to tackle! You definitely picked a challenging reference You did a great job on the hair, though! I always struggle with hair when drawing in pencil so your rendition impresses me a lot.

I was so impressed by the people who thoroughly completed the texture. I tried and was like, "... Nope!"

Yeah I saw some of those, too, and I thought to myself, they must be using some kind of evil sourcery there! Maybe they are texturing the paper itself or using a magical eraser, who knows? Or have an infinite supply of patience...

Thanks! I do put a lot of effort in it but it never comes out the way I like to see it on others' drawings. Like in here - the lighter strands that catch the light, and the smooth, yet detailed texture of the rest of it.

I like that you didn't do the texture on the shawl. Keeping it solid makes it look heavier, which I think makes it look like she's out in a cooler environment...Or maybe that's just me Lovely work!
