(Yeah I'm not posting from the Creek rp but Gale came to tell Cicadastar the message from Shadowtalon etc etc)

xxx

Skyspirit paced at the section of land between camp and the nearest border, this area in which he had seen sha-Gale....all these past few times. His blue eyes remained troubled and he let out a soft, clouded sigh in the frigid air, scanning the horizon. So far it seemed there was no sign of the other...which left him with just his thoughts, not exactly what he wanted...seeing as they were so muddled. He couldn't understand it, this tension between Arch and Creek and then such animosity towards strangers? Especially those who merely came bearing a message? He was genuinely concerned, and his chest tightened at the thought of this conflict becoming something far more bloody...it seemed to him that what Gale and this other she-cat had said was that they wanted peaceful negotiations, for a completely unclaimed land! What was the problem with that? It wasn't like any of the Clans used it...

Sitting down with his tail tightly curled around his paws, he was completely unprepared to nearly be bowled over by a light-colored cat, whose eyes were bright with intelligence and perhaps a hint of danger.

"So you're the one that Bludgeon kept going on 'bout, eh?" the young tom's tail lashed, as he stared up at the warrior of ArchClan, eyes blazing, "Name's Phoenix. Can I have a word?"

---

Heavy black paws pushed through the snow, glaring up at icicles as though the mere concept of winter was a curse plaguing them like the famine ravaging their stomachs. Torn ear twitching as he pushed through the normal path he took through this area. It'd been a few days since he'd seen the brown cat that often found him in his wanderings.  Worry plaguing his mind over how the other would react now that he knew his name. Though those thoughts flooded away into the wind when the scent of a certain shadow flooded his senses

---

Olive green eyes flickered over Skyspirit's pelt and the warrior dipped his head slightly, "Salutations stranger, I cannot say that I am aware of a cat named Bludgeon, or one of the title of Phoenix. Is there something wrong you wish to discuss with me?" he could feel a strange...prickling, as though this cat was holding something back. Like how his shadow had been when they had first met. Wide blue eyes sought answers in those across from them, in the much smaller tom, who let out a sigh.

"You've been meeting one of our members, a shadow by the name of Gale. What have you been talking about?"

"So you're another shadow? Is Gale okay?" Skyspirit took a quivering breath, throat constricting slightly at the thought of perhaps another Clan cat...or even a city cat...having harmed Gale. Had Gale sent this young one? Why, he couldn't have been much older than Skyspirit...great heavens he seemed younger, even...he likely wouldn't be made a warrior just yet, would he? Ah but there was something in his eyes that most of the apprentices, at least in ArchClan, seemed to lack. A cold cunning, an intelligence, and the barest hint of bloodlust. This was not a cat to be trifled with, but it did not cause the young warrior fear...he was just worried, and oddly curious.

"Gale's fine unless ya been fillin' 'is head with crazy stories!" Phoenix muttered, the hint of an accent of some sort peeking through, something a bit more musical than Gale's, as he stared down Sky, "You Clan cats, ya are all cruel, runnin' off cats from your lands, nearly attackin' anyone who even spits near ya and yer borders!" he glared at Skyspirit with a weighted rage, and the tom took a soft pawstep back.

"I...I have not laid a paw upon any intruders, and I am sure that those who have are just trying to keep those they love safe...I know it does not justify harm, but you shadows have harmed some of our own as well...there is no need for any more violence...Phoenix."

---

A low growl steadily rumbled throughout the black tabbies body as he drew closer to the scent. Though when a equally familiar, and far more pleasing, scent flooded his senses the male forced the noose to quiet down. Fur remaining raised along his spine and eyes narrowed as he sought the two out. Ears pinned into their normal fashion and low snarls leaving his maw despite attempts to contain them.

Pausing in the snow eyes narrowed as he spotted the barest glimpse of the two across the snowy banks and began to move closer.

---

"You say that, but you Clan cats are all set to wage war over us just wanting a nip o' the land you don't live on!" Phoenix's tail lashed as he circled Skyspirit. The warrior did not engage with him, he simply sat down in the snow and allowed the little tom to go around his back, his exposed neck, without flinching.

"Phoenix, I do not want to fight you or your shadows. I want these negotiations to go well, I want there to be peace." The breeze trickled by, ruffling his fur, bringing with it a scent that he was starting to become more familiar with than even some of his clanmates' scents. It seemed the other, the Australian Mist, knew it as well, for his head shot up and he turned to follow it, catching a faint shadow against the snow, a dark pelt, his fangs baring to glisten slightly.

"GALE!" he called, his voice a sharp bellow through the chilled air, "We know it's you! Just come over here already!"

---

Slinking from the hidden areas he walked among the male moved closer, head low as though to keep his neck from reach of the lower figure. After a moment he lifted his head to regard the short gaze. His expression briefly blanking before morphing to faint concern. Amber eyes flickering over the tom before heaving a sigh.

"Why are you out without Hedge? He should be keeping an eye on you for exactly this reason."

---

Skyspirit wasn't sure what he'd been expecting when Gale approached them, but to see him suddenly move to concern, asking such things, he almost felt a warmth flutter in his heart. This tom, how could anyone see him as anything other than such a tender, loving fighter. Sure, he was a bit of a ruffian, he had his flaws, but didn't they all? No one was perfect, not even StarClan...he remained seated, watching the two with wide, curious blue eyes. They shimmered softly, widening further when Phoenix fluffed up furiously.

"I don't need to have someone keep an eye on me! I'm perfectly fine going out on my own! I'm just as much of a shadow as you are, Gale! So stop fussing at me!" he lashed his tail, glaring at the scarred tabby.

---

"Yeah..." Glancing around the male gave a faint huff as he evidently search for Hedge whom he assumed would be lurking nearby. After a pause he moved closer, cautiously drawing closer to Skyspirit briefly before pausing a distance away to watch the other shadow carefully.

"Ye' yer out here stirrin' up the local kittens. Where's Hedge?" Huffing the male settled to sit once more with his gaze darting over to fully rest on Skyspirit.

---

Tail lashing, the young one let out a long-suffering sigh, "Hedge isn't my babysitter either, and if anyone is stirring up trouble it's you . You know Bludgeon is getting suspicious right? He's caught the odd scent on ya an' it's driving him up a wall. Threatened to come after ya himself he did, bu' I told him that he'd be better use to boss if he patrolled the city, seein' how strong and big he was. I had to lay it on THICK, Gale," he flexed his claws against the ground, "Decided to come out myself so that he wouldn't, see what sort of fix ya got in. Found this warrior here waitin' so I figured he'd be tha one in question."

He glared stubbornly at the two toms, gaze flickering between them, "Why ya keep seein' 'im Gale, he's not one o us! Ya know if boss finds ou' ya could be punished! I don' want ya to get punished!" he confessed in a blurted huff before turning away furiously.

---

"I'm aware of his... Curiousities. I's nothin' he nee's to concern himself abou' Phoeni'; and yah can tell him I said tha'." Amber eyes flickered closed for a moment before the tom glance at Skyspirit. Really he was risking a lot by doing this just to meet with one cat that he wasn't even sure wanted to see him right now. After what had happened on the border he was rather unsure about what would happen now. Carefully ducking his head the male buried the faint feeling that this was just odd. Being near the other but seemingly forbidden from getting to close lest Phoenix realize just how content he'd gottn near a strange cat.

"I can see who I'd li'e to see Phoeni'. If tha boss me'ely wishes to discuss thin's no harm will come from gettin' alon' with a clan kitten."

---

"Ye well to tell 'im that is to paint a target on your back Gale! I won't have that!" the little spitfire lashed his tail, paws flicking against the ground, "'es unstable and you know it! Don't know why the boss wants ta keep him onboard, guess he's strong but tha's about it." Letting out a soft sigh that clouded up, he blinked, staring over as Gale glanced to Skyspirit, "Yah well these Clan kittens as you so call 'em, aren't quite so keen on us now are they? Seems they're tha ones stirring up trouble, Gale!" he glared at Skyspirit.

Finally, the young warrior spoke, "I understand that many have been unwelcoming...believe me I..." he hung his head, "My own leader, who I respect with a great...great fondness...has wanted nothing to do with any of you, he seems determined you are unpredictable heathens ready to tear our Clan mates apart...I tried so hard to allow you all an audience-"

"Woah woah wait, mate, you tried ta get us in with ya leader?" olive green eyes widened in surprise, though it was quickly overtaken with suspicion.

"Yes, I..." his gaze trailed to Gale softly, nothing but worry and affection within, "I don't want to see anyone hurt if it can be helped."

---

Glancing over Phoenix Gale gave a faint huff under his breath, as though steadily wearing from the debate that was taking place. While he'd been farefully assuring himself that remaining with the shadows was the best path to take he could feel a lazy uncertaintity crawling into the back of his mind; though he was aware it'd be long gone soon enough. Bludgeon was nothing but a unstable danger and Phoenix's words brought one matter to his mind. Why? Why was such a dangerous cat being kept around? Perhaps Shadowtalon merely feared what Bludgeon could do on his own. It was a simple enough answer for him at the moment, to tired to ponder to far onto the topic.

"See? No' all of them a'e as bad as yer makin' 'em out to be!" Faintly the male offered a roll of his eyes as he turned his head to fully look at Skyspirit once more. Really he doubted this cat would lie to him; perhaps that was becoming dangerous. Phoenix wasn't without a point that Bludgeon was getting to pushy; that and he was trusting a cat who's name he didn't even know as of yet.

---

Glaring at the duo with suspicion, he narrowed his olive eyes, pacing slightly before them, paws flexing, "Eh. He's alright 'spose...can't trust 'im though...not with them bein' so unwilling to cooperate. They tried ta hurt you an' Piper, I won't stand for it! These Clan cats are....just...I don' get 'em! They ain't got manners...you an' Piper weren't trying ta hurt 'em, just talk to 'em...don't see why they go after ya..." his ears flattened, the pale splotches along their back rippling as their fur twitched.

"I won't hurt you," the young warrior promised, confidence in his tone, "I don't want to hurt you and I don't want to see anyone else hurt you or be hurt by you," tail flicking slightly he dipped his head, "I give you my word as a warrior of ArchClan that I seek peace."

"Wha' good does a warrior's word mean when I don't know tha first thing bout a warrior?" although young, Phoenix was a very curt and intelligent youth, learning from the hardships of life rather than the highs of it, his slender tail flicking in agitation.

"Then take my word as a cat, a fighter like you, a young presence in the world," he whispered, blue eyes empty of any secrets, full of simple honesty and desire for peace, "I, Skyspirit, promise you that I seek peace for all cats. That they may find happiness and love in their own time."

---

Amber eyes flickered between the two as they spoke, huffing under his breath from time to time in a faint irritation to what was hapening, though for the most part he seemed a bit content to let Sky handle the issue of Pheonix. Though at the other's worry for him and Piper the tom gave a faint chuckle under his breath, shaking his head with a grin evident. Faintly his paws shuffled beneath him before he was moving closer to the other again, as though proving the point that there wasn't much danger. White fog rolling from his maw as he sat a tail length from the other tom. Eyes trailing after the pacing tom in a faint curiousity; briefly wondering if the other just couldn't sit still during that moment.

"Calm yourself Phoeni'. Blu'geon isn't gonna fin' ou' wha' I've been up to ou' here!" Shaking out his pelt the male watched the slow and ice that'd clung to him flurry out and away from his body.

"I..." Pausing faintly the male seemed to heavily debate what he was going to say, eyes narrowed in thought.
"I trus' him."

---

Skyspirit let out a huff when the snow and ice flurried out against him, sticking his tongue out at Gale briefly before smiling gently back to Phoenix, "Bludgeon? He's been mentioned a few times...is he another shadow?" his gentle azure gaze and soft voice seemed to finally win over the fretful feline before him, before Gale's words settled and the young warrior turned with baited breath, his maw flittering into a soft, shy smile, "I trust you too Gale."

"Well...if'n Gale trusts 'im then sure, why not 'ave faith in ya," Phoenix mumbled after a moment, pausing in his pacing to stare behind them, "Easy Hedge-no danger 'ere."

Skyspirit jolted, staring behind him to see a towering tom, big as Wolfstar, rivalling Ravenclaw, with bright yellow-green eyes and a scarred frame. How had he missed this? He'd been so distracted by Gale and Phoenix...that would surely have resulted in a terrible injury...swallowing hard he gave a feeble nod of greeting to this...Hedge.

---

Pausing the black tabby seemed to glare at Phoenix, silently trying to figure out if the other tom was beign sarcastic or not. Though he didn't quite figure it out before he heard the smaller tom calling Hedge's name. A resulting shudder rolled through his body in a wave; muscles locking up in tension as he shifted to look at the large cat with a nervous breath of air. Ducking his head in a bit of a nervous manner Gale couldn't help the knot that promptly settled in his stomach. It was looking at a semi parental figure that wasn't mad but just seemed to partially radiate dissapointment due to the silence that claimed the air around them.

"Y-yeah. He doesn't really talk... or do much that I know of."

---

Hedge stared down at Gale with a quiet judgment, sizing him up, gaze flickering across his pelt to be sure he bore no injuries before turning to do the same to Phoenix, striding over to stand beside him but slightly behind, the way a cat would to their leader or commander. Tail flicking at the tip he narrowed his gaze, sweeping it to Skyspirit. Seeming to sense that the young one meant no harm, their gaze dropped back to staring straight ahead, as though inactive until receiving orders.

Skyspirit took a tiny step closer to Gale, offering a shy smile at the large newcomer, "Well, Hedge, Phoenix, Gale, it's nice to know some names...and I know that Skyspirit is an odd name...so it's quite all right if you don't recall it..." he dipped his head gently.

---

"I prefe' Sunshine still, though I'll try to re-call ths' name." Watching the other shift closer the male glanced back up to Phoenix and Hedge before moving a faintly large paw step closer, settling as the ends of his own black coat brushed past the brown stands of the others. Though he watched the other two sadows in a quiet regard, a protest already built in his mind incase they tried to breach the topic and amber eyes narrowing faintly as he watched the other two.

"See Phoenix? No dange' here yah can see tha' with yah own two eyes." Twitching the remains of his tail the male tucked his feet close, attention briefly flickering over the snowy mound cautiously looking for any signs of other shadows. His mind mentally scolding himself that he let Hedge sneak up on them.

---

"I...I like Sunshine as well," he murmured, glancing over as Gale moved closer, as he sought the other tom's warmth, their pelts brushing. Hedge didn't show any sort of reaction to it, and had he it would have been rather hypocritical considering his own thick pelt fluttering against Phoenix's.

Olive eyes fluttered to Gale, letting out a sigh, "Aye Gale...can see that. My apologies...prince...cat..." he dipped his head to Skyspirit who looked flustered at the words. They didn't exactly make sense to a cat who had no idea of royalty, but they seemed to have a weight he did not deserve. "There's no one else Gale...just Hedge an' me. Ya know we work together...no' with others usually." The short-haired tom shivered slightly before flexing his paws, "Yer a good ally, Sky cat...hopefully you'll remain so."

---

"Good to hea' tha' I haven' been insultin' yah by callin' yah tha'." Keeping his gaze steady on the other two Shadows the male remained with a slightly tense posture; head kept high as he watched them with a cautious and guarded expression for a moment after the reaasurance that no others were nearby. Though he stopped glaring about before quietly relaxing as he peered at them.

Though at the words about Skyspirit being an ally the males body fully relaxed.

"Hopefully whatever discussion tha boss wishes to have is quic' and peaceful despite tha hostilities occurin'."

---

He ducked his head bashfully, "No I think it's nice...not sure why you decided to call me that, but I like it," tail flicking slightly he gave a soft smile towards them. At the comment about being a good ally he dipped his head, "I hope that we can all be peaceful allies. The shadows and the Clans," he watched as Phoenix turned to murmur something to Hedge before the larger cat turned back towards the ruins.

"Well, was nice ta finally meet tha' cat tha' Gale always smells like," Phoenix had the hint of a smirk on his features, "Don't stay out too late, kids~" with a saucy flick of an ear he was bounding across the ground with Hedge, allowing the dark and light to remain twined together as the other two returned to the ruins.

---

"Tha reason fo' tha name doesn' matte'." Watching Phoenix speaking to Hedge the tome briefly felt a faint speck of concern rising within him, rooting into his mind like a light plauge.

However the roots were quickly destroyed  when Phoenix turned to speak again, Gale cutting off his words to inhstead listen. Eyes narrowing faintly at the first comment that was made, he'd tried to hide the scent of the other but it seemed he'd failed to do so, before widening faintly in a mind distressed annoyance at the other tom's actions and second comment. Though he held his tounge as he watched the two vanish into the distance the tom seemed to avoid looking directly at Skyspirit for the moment, instead examining the snow around them.

Snow was rather interesting anyways. Right?
